Good Morning Tuesday, 4th March 2025

Good Morning all after what was an overcast morning but has turned into a warm, sunny day (25°). There was 5mm of rain last night which was very welcome, we only receive 34mm for the whole of February.

I have started back working on my camper but might have to abandon it for today as my daughter and hubby might be staying the night before they pick up their dog tomorrow. Hopefully a meal at the club or the new Thai place this evening.

Fitted the mount on the back of the TV: to give you some idea of size the fixing screws are 200mm by 100mm.

Today I hope to get the wood sanded and varnished. Those velcro strips are from older projects but I leave them there “just in case”.

Then I have to retrieve the soundbar to remount and attach HDMI cable. It broke its mounts ages ago during my trip to Camerons Corner so is largely held in place with cable ties. Still sounds fine but it was not designed to be bounced about - might try a different mounting method (though it has to be said cable ties are brilliant!)

My son contacted me late last night. His ship (HMAS Choules) sailed into Cyclone Alfred to rescue a sailor who had rowed from San Diego (in North America?) Not a very sensible plan for all parties. He said it was rough mountainous seas but fortunately he, like me, never gets travel sick. He knows the bloke doing the interviews from way back.

Anyway that’s enough waffle from me, have a brilliant Tuesday…

Take care…

Morning all – foggy start to the day but we are promised sunshine later

My brother rang early this morning, Mum has stopped eating again and is down to 87 kilos. The doctor has now put her on palliative care so we are bracing ourselves for the worst. Being so far away there is nothing I can do but I am feeling at a loss and can’t concentrate on getting anything done.

Take care - hope everyone has a better day than I am having

Morning everyone… :039:
Just under the wire after an uncomfortable start last night, but soon dropped off after a couple of paracetamol and slept like a log until 8:00am this morning. There seems to be a bit more movement in my knee so I’m off to try a short walk round the block in the gorgeous sunshine.
@Bruce did you mean 20mm X 10mm for the fixing screws? 200 X 100mm does sound a bit excessive. I’ve lifted engines out of vehicles with smaller screws… :astonished:
This is my telly mount in the kitchen, just a 19" screen on this one though and the fixing screws were about 40mm X 5’s…It’s not a smart telly by the way…

@Chilliboot I came down to Brighton once on a delivery job, had an hour or two there and enjoyed it Chilli. Dem boots look good, have a good day out…
:+1:
@zuludog I find it very hard to stay indoors when the sun’s out Zulu, enjoy a walk.
@SheilaP sorry to hear about your Mum Sheila… :hugs:
@realspeed Happy anniversary realspeed, Mrs Fox and me are just behind you…53 years married in October…

Phew!
A lovely sunny day on the coast and yet so early in the season, it was all very laid back🌞
We indulged in a little window shopping…

The Lanes is rather pricey :open_mouth:

Chilli junior splashed out in Whtitard of Chelsea

I haven’t had a pint served up in a glass like this for many a year, brought back memories

This particular end of the bar featured in a much celebrated film about Brighton

Anyway, I’m back home now and there’s washing up to attend to :face_with_symbols_over_mouth::wink:

No, gawd no. I doubt you even pick up such a screw, I meant the spacing between the screw mounts to give some idea of the overall size of the TV. That screw mount on the back of your TV is a VESA mount the same as the old TV but that bracket wouldn’t fit the new one because the spacing is much bigger.

The set screws are actually M4 x 12mm on the new TV.

This is the old TV mount - together with the bigger bolts and lock nuts I employed to keep it rigid. The mount similar to yours but if you look at the mount on the new one (in my OP) it has a much wider array of holes to cope with larger TVs but the VESA mounting points are still there in the middle.

I vaguely remember Brighton, not a bad place at all, isn’t there a palace built for Prince Albert (something like that. One of the better seaside resorts along the coast, One of my great aunts used to spend every summer with relatives at Eastbourne as I recall.

The pistols could have come in handy if you visited Bexhill :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Good late morning…make that mid afternoon from Florida!

@Sheila, I am terribly sorry to read about your mom and I am also sorry about physical distance. You do whatever you have to do to get through this time. Sending you a hug.

@realspeed, congratulations on your anniversary! Gosh, I sure hope this marriage works out .
Ha, sincerely though, have a nice dinner and I wish you many more happy years.

@Chilliboot it looks like you are having a grand time out and about, no doubt looking spiffy in your perfectly polished boots.

@OGF and @Bruce…I can’t say I appreciate the nuances of mounting TVs on the wall, but I sure appreciate the work that it takes - even when the screens are small.

After a round of moving boxes to storage, I finally felt my age and drove over to the local yoga studio for a couple of hours. Aaaaaah, I really needed that. Now I am just a happy, gelatinous blob.

Off to the grocery store!

Have a nice evening!

In my particular case it’s not so much the mounting that’s a problem it’s the bouncing about that it gets on the move. In the house it is easy.

Even so the two screws provided to attach it to the wall would hold the camper itself on the wall, they are absurdly largel Hopefully I shall change them for something considerably smaller.
