Good Morning Tuesday, 4th August 2026

Good morning all you forum folks out there, another cool sunny day, I think it is only going to get to 17/18° again today.

I got some mowing done yesterday but want to get the rest done today (outside my block). While I was out yesterday morning the council came along and cut down a small tree that had been growing just outside my block, I am still getting used to the gap! I presume it is to improve sight lines for the road junction.

Walked to the mall to post some letters and buy milk, it was an interesting exercise - I posted a letter to my brother in the UK it cost me $3.50 (£1.75), to send postcards to Australia from the UK cost £3.15 ($6.30) nearly twice as much. One of a few things I noticed in the UK that cost about the same in pounds as we pay in dollars. Don’t worry there are plenty of things we pay more for than you (food for example).

Talking about differences:

Apart from a bigger box (more pieces) the UK one is Nestles isn’t it? (both made in the UK)

Weetabix:

Weet-bix

Different textures, the Oz one is made of bigger pieces of wheat, you only notice it when you break it up, the Weetabix are much finer pieces (verging on powdery), little difference in taste though, I’d happily eat either.

Well, that’s the thought for today

What are you up to?

Take care…

Good morning to all

Cooler today just right for a walk to the beach , meeting up with a friend for coffee and lunch at a cafe beside the sea

Shame about the little tree being cut down Bruce

Enjoy your day

Good morning everybody.
Slightly cooler this morning around 23 degrees which is much better for me, although still humid.

We had some rain last night, i could smell it - you know that special smell of rain falling on scorched earth, you can’t mistake it. Unfortunately it wasn’t enough to do any good, but i’m hoping for more in the near future.

Today i’m going to do what i should have done yesterday, plus an appointment i’ve had to squeeze in to to my very busy agenda!

Take care all, and have a pleasant day.

Good afternoon all. 14 degrees and rain here. Almost put heating on first thing but put on another layer of clothing instead.

Sorry to hear about your rain Scot, I expect we’ll be getting it soon with a lot colder weather and making the summer of 2026 just a dream.
Of the two, I much prefer the hot conditions. Speaking of which…Anise, your weather sounds very much like our weather here in South Yorkshire.
It was 22ºC on my walk this morning and we also had the overnight rain, what bit there was. It started raining as I returned home but only lasted a few minutes.
Mrs Fox dragged me out early this morning to visit M&S for tonight’s dinner, I’ve taken a liking to their Quiche’s with some mash or new potatoes and some fresh vegetables…
