Good Morning Tuesday 3rd September 2024

Good morning all, the wind has gone though it is still cool but it is supposed to get into the mid/high 20s later in the week.

I planted some Aloe Vera out by my letter box, there was some there before but some got flogged and the rest died, don’t mind, they grow like a weed. The soil is bone dry I had to soak it before I planted them. Was also looking at my Hipposomethings but they have been a bit battered by the winds so are not looking their best but they spawned others which might look better when they come out.

Catching a train this arvo to see my specialist in the 'Gong, this is a new one that is going to insert radio active markers (not today) so that is something to look forward to.

I will probably take the opportunity to make a walk of it as I rarely go to the CBD now that you have to pay for parking.

Hope you all have a wonderful day where ever in the world you are. Take care.

Good morning - I hope having the radio active markers fitted isn’t too much of a trial Bruce.

Nice flower photo. Some of the flowers in our hemisphere are showing signs of dying back and I notice a few acorns are starting to drop from the tree at the bottom of the garden.

I will have a go at the garden today if the rain holds off. I’ve been neglecting it for a while. Nature likes it but not so pleasing to human the eye.

Hope everyone has a good day.

The surgeon I spoke to today was quite scathing of the oncology mob, he basically said that they are hammers that see everything as a nail and that doing nothing is probably the best option for me. He said monitoring the situation is a choice and that an operation or radiation in six months, one year, 4 years or more is still viable.

Sounded good to me, I have another appointment in a month when I will decide what to do. If it were not for the PSA I wouldn’t know anything about it - I feel fine

Morning all – another dull overcast day :cloud:

Well yesterday didn’t get off to a very good start and got worse! As I said I needed to post a letter to Mum and the nearest sub-post office is a 20 minute drive away. Got there, managed to find a parking space (not easy) only to find the sub-post office had unexpectedly closed for the day! The next nearest post office is a 45 minute drive away, so the letter remains unposted. Can’t post it today as my car has gone in for a service and MOT. My neighbour is a car mechanic and has taken the car this morning, will carry out the service, take it to the MOT station and then bring it back tonight – so convenient for me. :+1:

Someone I met at one of the coffee mornings I attend texted me suggesting we get together for a coffee so I invited her round to mine. That was a mistake!! I was taken on a 3 ½ hour trip down Depression Lane! She didn’t stop talking for the whole time listing every disaster and problem that has befallen her. I kept trying to change the subject but I could barely get a word in edgeways! I know she probably needed to vent to someone and I do feel sorry for her but I’m not sure I was the right person. When she finally left I felt so drained that I didn’t have the energy to even cook my dinner! :astonished:

As I have no transport my plans for today are some housework and ironing (how exciting)

Take care – hope everyone (including me!) has a good day!

A very good morning from Foxy’s World… :walking_man:
Overcast and dull with a few spots of light rain as I trundled around my three and a half mile course. Despite the miserable weather I felt good, and my knee held up and didn’t complain during or after the walk…No running just yet though… :009:
The Government have been nice enough to pay my wages (pension) this morning, so hurrah! we will be able to eat next week… :yum:
In the absence of a Haynes Manual for my Citroen C3 Aircross, and nothing on youtube, I decided to find out what all the fuses and relays were for in the under bonnet fuse box. There doesn’t seem to be an in car one. Very strange.
Anyway I started pulling out fuses to see what they did, very enlightening! I’ve done about half so far, so will continue with the other half later.
Amusing to see a warning appearing on the screen saying that there is an engine fault and it even produced a route on the sat nav to the nearest dealer…
Don’t you just love these new cars with a computer and Al looking over your shoulder when ever you drive the thing…Or start tampering… :009: It’s got to go!
Your hospital sounds like ours @Bruce you can’t get within two miles of the place in your car, so I either take the bus, or walk…
As it happens, I’ve been summoned for a fasting blood test and the hospital is the best place to go for it. Something to do with me sugar…
Sorry to hear about the consultation with your friend Sheila, I hope you took notes for the next visit…

That’s a pity - don’t you have a post box nearer?

My mother lives in Australia so the letter has to be sent air mail
