Good morning all, it is a bit of an overcast day about 20°, the forecast assures me that it will not rain.
Because of the forecast (no rain until late arvo) I washed all my accumulated dirty clothes and had them on the line at 7.30am. I hope it will all be dry soon so at least I can bring it indoors.
Tried to check in on line and get my seat but was told I will have to do that in the morning
My daughter arrives early evening and we are going to the club for a meal as soon as she arrives. I have set my alarm for 4am because we have to be at the airport about 7am. She has taken a day’s leave just to drive me to the airport.
Received an email from BA telling me that the worst airport in the world is undergoing renovations so to get to the terminal the plane will be unloaded onto the tarmac (stairs) and passengers bussed to the terminal. (Manchester Airport in case you wondered) That is something to look forward to.
The rest of today will be spent getting the house ready to be left empty, NASs turned off etc.
Couple of days and I will be in the UK. Should be fun.
Its been years since I have been on a plane, and it was Birmingham and E Midlands mostly , and they had just started self checkin . I got flustered on my last flight and with an audience watching I wished the ground would open up .That was Edinburgh airport I had gone there for my 60thBirthday .
I hope your Trip goes well @Bruce , temps are in the 20c but with odd days at 30c for the next 2 weeks .
Im waiting for my online shop, done a few house chores .
Have a good day all
A cool, yet humid day here in the depth of Hampshire. Just come back from my daily walk and as usual, it rained as I was halfway round and ended up a bit soggy when I got home.
The unexpected rain has altered my plans for the day. I have a patch of brambles to clear which is now my long-term project (there’s a long story behind this) and yesterday I made a good start and was intending today to begin clearing, bagging up and running it down to the tip. But the rain has put the mockers on all that.
I’m having enormous grief with a certain company regarding printing of my wedding pictures I shot and having them presented in an album. The one they sent had severe green tint which I was not happy with and I’m disputing their quality control. Thus far, they haven’t responded to my complaint when they made the bad mistake of trying to fob me off with excuses. The saga continues.
When the cleaner arrived, on time, I left her to get on with everything having sent her a detailed list earlier in the week. I am still undecided as to whether to keep her on or not.
It was certainly easier watering the neighbour’s garden yesterday evening – much cooler
As I had broken my favourite coffee mug I have treated myself to 2 extra large mugs! One of them holds the equivalent to 2 ordinary coffee mugs! (I’m not saying I am addicted to coffee – but we are in a committed relationship!)
The plan for today is to get the bus into town – so it will probably rain
