Good morning all on this tepid Tuesday. Gosh, the month is nearly over, doesn’t time fly?
Have been pottering between house and garage, wanted to test out my new el cheapo Chinese battery charger ($23 on special). I need it for my camper as the 60watt solar panel doesn’t always keep the battery fully charged so it is handy to be able to charge it when one has mains power. Recently changed the battery from flooded lead acid to AGM - an ordinary lead acid charger (even a smart one) would eventually ruin it. Hence this one.
Seems to work OK on lead acid will test it on AGM later.
This arvo have a visit to the specialist to get the results of my pathology tests.
Just wish it wasn’t so cold only 16° again today, thank gawd for my puffer jacket, though I am not envious of someone’s 40°, I am good up to the mid 30s.
Good morning - Sunny and warm again. It’s the last day of the family visiting us, so we’re all off to Guildford for a day out. It might be farmer’s market day, not sure though. A view up High Street taken some years ago. It doesn’t change much…
I’ve got a Ctec battery charger similar to the one shown Bruce. I let a couple of wheelchair batteries die through neglect. My own silly fault. It revived one of them but not the other.
Morning all – another bright sunny day – temperatures forecast to reach 29c (that’s a bit hot for me!)
Hope the results of the tests are good news Bruce. Once again your post baffles me – I really wish I had been taught more useful things growing up but I’m afraid I am hopeless when it comes to anything practical!
Received a quote for renovating the antique garden furniture – ouch!!! (Anyone know where I can sell a kidney!) Still it needs to be done will just have to grit my teeth and let them get on with it. Also received a quote to clear the gutters on my house £342!!! I think they have confused my house with Buckingham Palace! Told them thanks but no thanks as I am sure I can get it done a lot cheaper!
Off to the hairdresser this morning – having highlights put in so that will take almost 3 hours – must remember to take my book!
A jolly good Tuesday morn to all, another most lovely morn, indeed.
“Your days are your life in miniature. As you live your hours, so you create your days. As you live your days, so you craft your life. What you do actually create your future. The words you speak, the thoughts you think, the food you eat and the actions you take are defining your destiny. Shaping who you are becoming and what your life will stand for.”

Another very hot day! It was pleasant earlier when Annie dog and I had our walk but it seems much hotter now so I shall be indoors for the remainder of the day I think.
I hope your test results are ok Bruce, good luck with those.
I have just been round the house with my spider web clearer. It seems that those long legged spindly spiders have decided to stay rent-free in my home! A rather hairier one ran across the floor yesterday evening as I watched TV. Poor Annie dog almost jumped into my arms when she saw it. I managed to capture it under a glass and exported it into the garden - I have become very brave with spiders since losing my husband, he used to remove them for me but now I have to do it myself.
Nothing much planned for today except sorting out some drawers and reading - I know, I live an exciting life!
Good brand but I’m afraid was not prepared to lash out on a pricey one like Ctek or Projecta as I already have three lead acid chargers which are rarely used.
Generally speaking all my batteries are charged by solar cells lying on the car port roof. when they are at home. When I am travelling the Aux battery in my car is charged by a 100watt solar panel on the car roof and the alternator so it never is less than fully charged during the day. It runs the fridge and I have found that even if I never run the engine the solar cell provides more than enough charge indefinitely.
The camper has a solar cell too but only 60 watts and located on a box where it is often shaded even when I am parked and can use the portable panel (see photo) I still find it occasionally running a bit low so it is nice to have a charger available even though rarely used.
The cheap charger actually seems to work well - only one day of testing and on ordinary deep cycle lead acid batteries of which I have a couple spare in various stages of decay.
Good morning from the land of construction dust and barking dogs!
@Bruce sometimes a bargain is indeed a bargain. Let us know how you do with that charger. I hope your doctor’s goes well. The worst is not knowing one way or the other. Good luck!
That’s an inviting-looking town for a stroll, @mart . I hope you have had a wonderful time with your family. It’s great to still be out there enjoying life and making memories . (I also know it’s nice to get your place to yourself when family leaves, so I hope you enjoy that too .
This might not be the day you want to pop by for coffee; it’s already 34 and climbing! Have a relaxing salon visit instead ,.
I am abandoning the house to the painters, plumbers, and marble installers to run a slew of errands. I am hoping for a bit more progress today, since this is now eight without a functioning kitchen and the master bath! Not to complain though, I would rather have it done right than too quickly.
G’day all. I decided to stay out of the sun this afternoon, too hot, I’m too old for that. I do know that 31c in London is not as nice as 31c in Lisbon.
Which explains why they were living so primitively, without so much as a roof over their heads; there was no sound, intelligent advice that only women can provide.
