Good Morning Tuesday 29th July 2025

Good morning everyone, It’s a cool windy winter’s day here. Only getting up to 18° but the wind will make it feel cooler.

Caught the train to Wollongong to see my cancer specialist, all was good, like I tell him that if he hadn’t told me I would say I was absolutely fine… Don’t have to go back for another six months. Still cost me $125 and I only get $43 back from Medicare! As always, I am outraged.

I took some photos on the walk from the train to his office to kill a bit of time.

Only just got back home again so not sure what the rest of the day holds.

Have a good one

Take care…

Hi

Morning Bruce and all who follow.

I would find it fascinating to live in a Country where you can rely on trains.

Those days are long gone here in the UK.

The fares are extortionate, much more expensive than driving and pot luck if your train even turns up.

Locally we have an average of around 15% cancellations a day and less than 5% arrive on time or depart on time.

We are not talking a few minutes, it is often 30 mins or more.

A miserable day here, rain forecast all day.

My new mattress is arriving today, sounds simple, but it is a quite complicated procedure.

The air pump has to be wired up and then set up to work properly, it needs new sheets as it is much deeper and the rise and fall on the bed has to be altered to accommodate things.

I will be sleeping the other way round, feet where head is now, so all the controls will have to be moved, as will the laptop, phones, alarms etc.

Have a great day all and enjoy yourselves.

Good morning!
Dull & cool, but dry

As if I don’t have enough already I ordered another chef’s knife a few days ago -well it was in a sale
Most Online suppliers now have Tracked Deliveries with an estimation of the delivery time; but not this one
So I’m staying in and using the opportunity to catch up on a bit of tidying & domestic administration, like –
Answering and deleting a load of old email correspondence
Reminding myself what I have in my freezer
Planning a couple of holidays before the summer ends

Morning all

A grey and cloudy day here in southern Hampshire, not sure if it’s going to rain. Trying to summon up the energy to go out and trim my hedge, but the weather may decide otherwise. Tuesday means Mrs G is off to look after my father in law and take him shopping, leaving me to hold the fort. So I’ll be sitting here doing some online stuff if I’m not out in the garden making a mess. Need to book tickets for another county fair which is on this week and I’m still hunting around to replace one of my camera lenses, which I want to order in the next few days.

But none of that will happen before I’ve had my coffee and I may go as far as a sausage sandwich today. Whatever you’re doing, have a great day…

Shoud have worn a face mask the graphics card for eaample now removing I could get at the cooling fins easier, “cough cough” bit like a dust storm blowing it out. front and back case fans and filters now dust free and reassembled . definately worth doing as the computer is working faster

Morning Everyone, I’m just relaxing after a decent walk/jog in the rain. It was only spotting really, but enough to put on the waterproof, you never know… :009:
It’s brightened up now and being as Mrs Fox is out for a while I can take things really slow.
Hence my late visit to the good morning thread…
Rosie the cat is asleep on the chair opposite, she’s just a ball of activity and I feel bad that I don’t play with her as much as Mrs Fox, so she mainly goes to sleep (Rosie the cat, not Mrs Fox) when I’m in on my own. Although Mrs Fox has been known to dose off mid conversation…

Afternoon all – rain this morning although we are told it will brighten up later

Well, just because I am paranoid doesn’t mean the universe isn’t out to get me! First my knees decide to give up on me (the bee venom doesn’t appear to be helping much), then my gardener hurts his back so had to cancel yesterday, the solicitors dealing with my new Will appear to be the most incompetent bunch practising and this morning I had to have a luke warm shower because my boiler has decided to stop working! The one good point is the company I use for the annual service is very good and they are sending someone around 1.00 pm

Wish me luck everyone!

Good afternoon people!

A bit of a late one today by my standards… getting soft in my old age! :open_mouth:

Our washing machine is well and truly swived. I’ve arranged for a new one to be plumbed in next week.
In the meantime I’m going to have a quick nibble or two and see who gets nicked on disc 8

I’m not an impulse buyer, a bit pricey but well worth having.

Enjoy the rest of your day people! :+1:

I must admit that my visits to the UK confirmed that for the same journey the UK trains cost four times what I pay as full fare. Not that our trains are anything to write home about, they run on time by being slowed down, the Wollongong to Sydney train now takes five minutes longer than it did in the days of steam. The problem here is that every rail line ends at Sydney Central

I do like the L and R stamped in the earpieces but I have to say the construction of the swivel looks a little flimsy.

I heard a rumour that bluetooth headphones mess with your brain?
My daughter refuses to use them…

I remember a similar scare story in the early days of mobile phones.

And. Some new style Bud Hearing Aids. ‘Commercially’ advertised By other than an ‘Audiologist’.

Unless they are firmly and fixed deeply into the ear.
Which can become unfixed moving about.
