Good Morning Tuesday, 27th January 2026

Good morning all forum folks, another coolish day while the rest of the state suffers from another heatwave.

Went for a nice enough walk this morning under fairly cloudy skies.

The rest of the morning has been spent cleaning the bathroom, toilet and laundry which have been neglected the last couple of weeks. Even threw the bathroom mats in the washing machine.

Have a terrific Tuesday.

Take care…

Hi

Good Morning Bruce and all who follow.

The weather is even worse today until lunchtime, the noise of the rain on the windows is annoying.

This morning will not bring great visitors either.

A pair of very woke ladies arriving for a joint visit, compulsory after the downgrade in my health last week.

I will be very polite, smile, thank them for their advice about mindfulness, the need to eat more broccoli and less of the foods which taste nic etc, etc.etc.

The thing to do is to get them out of the house before my head explodes.

This afternoon is much better, a laugh a minute, down to earth, district nurse here to give me an injection and double check my readings.

She always makes me a coffee, although it is just an excuse to make sure the fridge is not full of out of date food and the kitchen is clean and safe.

Have a great day all.

Morning all…

Today me and the wife are up for eye tests today, possibly a coffee afterwards but definitely some shopping later. A moment of insanity struck me yesterday and I went and ordered a new lens for my camera and have a couple of photoshoots arranged for the coming months.

Anyway, have a great day all…

Good morning!
Low cloud, rain, and windy, but not too cold

I still have my cold/flu/bug or whatever it is; just when I think it’s getting better it comes back again
However, yesterday I didn’t feel too bad so I went into town to do a few errands, including -

paying a bill at the bank
making another dentist’s appointment to replace the one I cancelled owing to my cold
paying my car tax at the post office
shopping at Iceland for essential items like meat pies and whisky

Today I hope I continue to improve, though I still feel a bit shivery
I intend catching up on administration and paperwork, like marking up my calendar & diary, and continuing with letters & emails to friends

So wet and stormy out , but I need to got to the PO.

@swimfeeders your post made me smile ,Its hard to take advice at our age , but they do mean well . I tell myself they just doing their job .And I tell them what they want to hear .And they then think they are doing a good job .

@zuludog I had the bug you have before Christmas .it acted just as you say , feeling like you on the mend then it rears its head a gain .It lasted about 3 weeks before it was eventually gone .

Everyone have a good day .

Good Morning Everyone… :039:
I love to hear the rain on the window Swim, It makes me appreciate being indoors with the heating cranked up and realise what a cosseted world we all live in…Posters on here anyway…

I’ve done my share over the years, racing over the soggy moors on a 40 mile fell race with the rain and wind in your face, delivering the post in a foot of snow while in me shorts, or cycling from St Bees head in Cumbria to Robin Hoods Bay on the East coast in some atrocious conditions…

So I turned my back on the warm bungalow and set off in the wind and rain this morning.
Water streamed down the roadside and large deep puddles formed on the footpaths. I encountered a deep pond straddling the lane and had to run up the muddy bank at the side, almost lost my footing but managed to stay upright and welcomed the hard tarmac at the other side.
Water filled my running shoes after a couple of miles, so avoiding puddles was a waste of energy, and I’d like to thank the neanderthal driving the white van who emptied the puddle at the side of the road over my legs and shorts as he drove too close to the kerb… :009:
Fortunately I was almost at the end of my three and a half mile wade, and running was the only thing keeping me warm…
:man_running:
Such an invigorating outing, glad I decided to go…

Today’s activities include going down to the Lakeside Shopping Centre to meet the NHS van in the car park for a CT scan on the lungs, I’ve already tested them this morning and they seem fine…
You don’t eat Broccoli Swim?
:astonished:
Most medical persons don’t know nothing Swim, how many of them would have sent an old 75 year old bloke who had three heart attacks out for a run on a day like this?
I hope to prove them them wrong, and if they were right, I won’t be here to hear them say “I told you so”… :slightly_smiling_face:

Hell realspeed, that vid is over two hours long…How can you justify watching that during the day? Places to go, people to see, hills to climb…Etc etc etc
