The problem is that the nights are warm so nothing gets a chance to cool down. This was the temperature inside my house at 6.30am after a night with all the windows open.
Even the humidity was playing up - normally in my area in spring and summer humidity would be between 20% and 40%
Not as bad as parts of Sydney they have been above 35° for four days already.
Went shopping early for odds and ends before the heat set in. If the worse comes to the worse I can always wander over to the mall, settle in an armchair and read my book in air conditioned comfort. Funny thing - one of my kids on the weekend offered to install A/C for me but I have survived this long without it so it seems a bit of a waste.
I have sore fingers - I decided to re-pot some of my little cacti as they have been neglected, what was a clump is now well spread out with new potting mix. The left overs have been stuck in the garden to make their own way in life.
I hope you have slightly better conditions for today. Take care…
Good morning all
weather is sunny and light winds ,a high of 8c and a low of 2c,
my heating is blasting out at 20.50 c to keep me and dog warm .
nothing planned for today other than a walk with a friend along the riverside , which is rather high at the moment so will keep well away from the edge .
Just 3 degrees C and chilly here Bruce, I still managed a run out in my shorts though. I had to get out early and get a shift on this morning as I’ve got a dentist appointment at 11:00am and it’s at the other side of town, the rush hour traffic should have died down a bit by then but there are lots of roadworks going on everywhere so I will set off early.
Between feeling good and having to get round my 3.5 mile route sharpish I have just done the fastest time this year…
I’ll be sure to than Paulo the dentist when I get there…
Good morning - The Sun is shining and it’s 8ºC. A nice change after the storm. We didn’t have any damage but I feel sorry for those in other parts of the country who now have to deal with the aftermath of it.
The District Nurse is calling today. The Nephrostomy dressing was due to be changed tomorrow but the incision is sore and leaking. Mrs mart is worried so phoned up about it. Visit brought forward to this morning. It’s going to hurt.
Morning all – bright sunshine this morning – looks like we are in for a good day - Temperature 8c
Mart. hope the District Nurse can set your (and Mrs. Mart’s) minds at rest
Another late start for me – didn’t get up until 8.30! Well I did get up at 7.00, made coffee, put the washing machine on and went back to bed!
Brother rang – doctor said Mum has covid, not sure how she got it as the nursing home has strict protection procedures in place. Fortunately the doctor says it isn’t too severe but he was called in as a precaution due to her age.
Neighbour called in with flowers and wine as a thank you for looking after the cat. We had a lovely long catch up – honestly you would think we hadn’t seen each other for months, it has been a week!
Plan for today is housework, maybe get around to sorting out that paperwork – also expecting a parcel to be delivered later
It appears we received a little rain in the night, which made for a damp but quiet run - nary a person or creature to be seen. The temperature and humidity was in the just right range. @Bruce I envy your humidity; a dry day here starts around 65%.
@mart I hope the nurse shows early and takes care of your incision.
@Sheila, how nice of your neighbor to stop by. Those unplanned visits and the conversations that follow are so enjoyable.
@Eliza, I hope you and your pup have a cozy day at home.
I am off to the university later this morning, so I did not get to run, @OGF. My off day seems to be floating around these days. With good fortune, I’ll get something in before the sun sets…at least that’s what I am telling my running shoes that are on the shelf giving me dirty looks .
