Yet another warm sunny morning, so it is a very good morning from me.
Didn’t get my grass mowed yesterday I am saving it for this arvo when it will be that tiny bit drier than yesterday. The ground is still very wet from that week of rain. According to the news this morning the Indian Ocean Dipole and La Nina are conspiring to create a wetter than usual spring and summer. This doesn’t make me at all happy.
However I went for my walk this morning, it was lovely to step out in the sunshine.
Apart from the mowing and bangers and mash for this evening’s meal I don’t know what the rest of the day will bring.
Good morning Bruce and all who follow…it’s been raining here during the night,so a bit cooler than yesterday…Also see the leaves on some trees are turning yellow already so looks like Summer is over and Autumn has come early this year…Glad I cut the grass yesterday as rain is forecast on and off for next few days…Have a good day Folks,x
Hello Bruce and all, It feels like the rain is coming, the wind is a bit strong. For lunch I had Nam Nueng, the Vietnamese dish that you eat with lots of veggies. It looks so healthy, but then I had to finish it with a coffee and of course my heart started racing. I just couldn’t help it. Instead of feeling super healthy I ended up feeling tired and breathless from the coffee. Anyway, I hope you all have a lovely day.
Morning all from here in Sidmouth in Devon. Bright and sunny here, but rain forecast later. We’re wandering around all the shops with Mrs G looking for tea and scones with Devon cream, for some reason. At least its not too busy here.
Morning all – sunny start to the day but we are promised rain for later
I had planned to get a bus to a nearby shopping centre today – then my brother rang and I missed the bus! It only runs every 2 hours so I will think about getting a later one or put it off to another day.
My brother is still having problems with Liverpool Victoria getting them to pay on Mum’s policy. They keep asking for more and more information, which he has supplied, they have now asked for Dad’s death certificate for the second time. Obviously doing everything they can to delay payment – it’s not even as if it is a large sum of money!
The good news is I have won the lottery!! Before anyone gets excited it was only £140 but still better than nothing! On top of that I have also won £25 on the premium bonds – hopefully this is a build up to the big one!
insurance companies are quick to take your money, but getting any out of them is another matter. After all those at the top still want their £1/2m annual salary and multi millon retrirement payout, bless em
The salary of the CEO of the insurance company concerned is not published, however in 2022 they received £766,000 including bonus. The previous CEO, who stood down in 2019, was paid around £1m annually
Just silly money…Nobody is worth that…
Anyway good morning everyone…
Just some light rain as I set off for my walk/run, not heavy enough or long enough to do any good on the gardens, but enough for me to have to wear my waterproof jacket and sweat like a hard working road builder…
It was fast fifty morning today, where I run my little cotton socks off to the count of fifty…Then walk and repeat six times, over a mostly tarmac course (the canal towpath)
It was very warm and humid or something…
Bruce and May…It’s been so dry here, my grass isn’t growing and hasn’t been cut since June…Strangely the weeds seem to still grow furiously…
I’ve noticed that too May, some trees are already losing their leaves and berries are in plentiful supply already, and it’s still August… If I remember correctly, it was October last year before it looked like this…
I hate using the phone Swimmy, I think most of them want you to do it online so they don’t need as much staff, so deliberately give you the music, and put you on hold…“If you’re calling to complain press one”…“If you’re calling to pay a bill an assistant will be with you as soon as they can put their coffee down”…
Sorry Pimmy, but I’ll take your word about that food being healthy…
Now that’s what I call a healthy meal…
However, I didn’t know that about coffee. I occasionally have attacks of gout due to the amount of uric acid in my blood and apparently coffee helps to lower uric acid, so I’ve always looked upon it as a friend (but I still don’t drink much, preferring tea) but I also have heart trouble and it sounds like it’s not good for hearts…
The acorns are a pain in the bottom realspeed, when they are spread across a country road in mass, and you cycle over them, they can unseat a rider…So best avoided…
@OldGreyFox Haha your meal really does look much healthier than mine!
I know coffee is not good for my heart but I just love it too much thank you for sharing your story tea really sounds like the better choice for us both.
Wot! No Chips? Here you usually get a choice of veggies or chips and salad, I always ask for chips and tell them to forget the the salad.
Its usually the clover here in winter, it grows just enough to make the grass look untidy. I have already sprayed it with Bindie to kill it off. but outside the garden I just run the mower over it.
I agree with your choice of chips Bruce, and I’m getting a severe dislike of salad. It comes with everything and usually it consists of just lettuce and some hidden tomatoes…Under the great pile of different colour leaves…
I do love mash though…
