Good morning to you all on this wet Tuesday. It is raining now outside which started about 10am.
Before it was raining I went out to get batteries for my fire alarms because one of them had started beeping in distress. When I checked the battery was last replaced in May 2024 so I had to buy 7 of the damn things.
Interestingly I checked the voltage on the batteries as they came out, the Cheveron brand (Woollies home brand) actually had a higher voltage than the couple of Duracell batteries that I used - it was a Duracell battery that made the alarm beep.
Three of the batteries were easy to replace in the extension of the house but four in the older part with 3 metre ceilings required my big step ladder to reach. I am starting to think that I am getting too old to climb ladders, next time will ring the fire brigade, they supply and change the batteries for free (I bet I don’t ).
While I was out called into my PO Box and picked up my new camping lantern which has now been charged and stuck in the camper. It amazes me how quick Amazon and Australia Post deliveries are, it was ordered on Sunday and delivered on Tuesday, you can’t complain about that.
If this rain continues I can see me watching a fair bit of Netflix today. I hope that you have a more exciting day than me.
An early good morning from me today, I woke at 4.30……I’m not going out until late morning so will probably have a few more hours sleep after a cup of tea and checking out a few sites
I’ll be meeting a friend for lunch and later checking in on a neighbour, she’s 100 years old, lives alone doing all her own housework cooking, shopping etc. and fully compos mentis,an inspiration to us all
I’m going to the restaurant to get some noodles for lunch. In the afternoon, I’ll do some housework and then go to the food market.
I’m craving some crispy fried fish with the dipping sauce they sell there, served with a variety of fresh vegetables. That sounds so delicious!

I’m going to Manchester today to meet a friend for a chat about our mutual hobby of leather work and anything else that crops up - Wetherspoons is convenient for this.
Might do a bit of window shopping if there’s time
Another fine day here on the south coast…could really use some rain.
Not a lot happening here, I have to take my cold-stricken wife to the shops as she says she wants a new bracelet (Or some such thing). Nice to know her cold is getting better - especially when it comes to shopping.
