Good morning to all of you. It rained this morning which was very welcome, in fact I awoke to clouds obscuring the escarpment which explained the much warmer temperatures last night and today. Could even reach the low 20s. There are lots of clouds about but the sun does break through occasionally, the wind is supposed to pick up tonight.
Didn’t sleep particularly well last night so watched some Netflix for about half an hour around midnight. (probably a bad move)
My morning consisted of a bit more sanding and painting except today I started on the back door, didn’t take long and hopefully will get another coat on this arvo.
Apart from that my level of interest today is pretty low, I had intended to get out to the Vietnamese bakery for a dozen wholemeal rolls to freeze but have postponed that until tomorrow. Will probably read my book to fill in the time.
Hope you have a more interesting day, enjoy yourself.
A day of domestic bliss ahead of me - in other words housework!
Also I’ll be giving myself a bit of a kick up the backside. I’ve been promising myself that I’ll get back into the gym five days a week for ages. Actions speak louder than words.
It’ll be four helpings of this a day for a week for starters…
Other than that I’ll be getting my head around a few day trips for myself and Chilli jnr. The National Rail Journey planner is dead useful as are our Railcards…
Bit grey and cloudy down here in southern Hampshire - but that’s not a bad thing.
Mrs G is off yet again to deal with my Father-in-law and I’m left to start packing for our cruise, and it’s unbelievable how much stuff we’ll be taking with us and we still need to go out and buy more stuff. Later I’ve been drafted to meet up with my brother-in-law for lunch and his son and fiancée having come all the way from Australia.
Before I deal with all that, coffee and muffin time.
The meeting with the Solicitor went well – except for some very odd questions. What did I expect my Will to do? When did I think my Will would take affect? Apparently these were to test my cognitive abilities! Another was did I take part in any dangerous sports or activities! Told him yes, I go skydiving! At least it made him laugh. He also wanted proof of my address – we were meeting in my home. Promised him I hadn’t broken in just to have this meeting.
Only one little gift from the beast this morning and she went out straight after breakfast, probably because it is so much cooler today
Exciting plans for today include ironing, more laundry and grocery shopping!
Morning From Foxy’s World…
Hit the ground running this morning…Well sort of, what started as a walk in the rain ended up with quite a few jogging reps and a decent time for the three and a half mile course.
The American lady on my phone app was quite pleased with my effort and kept calling out the times and miles…I like to believe it’s Surfermom keeping an eye on me…
Mrs Fox and her friend have just returned from their walk and chucked me out of the kitchen while they enjoy a coffee together. Too many distractions for my liking.
I keep promising myself to go for a haircut (I’m beginning to look like Jesus) but I’ve too much work to do on my project, it’s more a bit of work in progress…
The work at the bottom of the garden progresses. Having done all the groundwork in preparation for the garden room (arriving Friday), they are now rendering an existing outbuilding with some sort of new weatherproof coating.
I put a shelf up in the chalet (the one that got moved) over the weekend and yesterday, arranged all the items that need storing in it. I’ll leave the temporary shed (a gazebo) erected because it might be necessary to keep the components for the garden room under cover until it is put together. Keeps me busy.
Earlier this morning, I got our new HP printer installed. A job that should have been easy but it wasn’t. A boring saga but it’s all working now.
We have been to Asda to do the weekly shopping trip.
Good moaning all…overcast walk to the shops, chose the wrong day to mow the lawn after all the nice weather went away, got to sort out the car insurance later because I’ve left it to the last minute. Never has a Tuesday felt more like a Monday!
Afternoon all. Productive morning, long walk, booked a holiday for September. Still lovely weather where we are today, so I’m going to lie out in the garden. And after all that camp and colony and beach chat yesterday…dare I do it bare?
Clarinet, cello, flute, piano, guitar! And music in general. I come from a very musical family so it’s just such a huge part of my life. Learning the harp too! Never too late for these things.
Wow!
That’s impressive - no wonder you teach music!!!
It might seem an odd question but do you think that people who are good with maths are likely to be better musicians?
Wow, you’re talented, good for you! I wish I’d learned to play the piano when I was younger, I only just started when I turned 50 , but no lessons, just “messing around” at home. I’ve just about managed to learn to play Bach’s prelude in C major, very amateurily.
