Good Morning Tuesday, 1st July 2025

Good morning on this wet morning. I woke to the sound of rain on the roof, in fact 12mm over night, this was a surprise because the forecast had not predicted any rain until late morning. The low is going to cause severe weather tomorrow and Thursday according to BOM

During a lull in the rain I got out my ladder and checked my gutters, then loaded one of my generators onto my trolley and brought it up to the house (better safe than sorry.

I suppose most of the day will be spent indoors, the rain is getting quite heavy as I type (nearly midday) Ho hum! What a start to a new month and new financial year.

Have a good one - enjoy your summer  dead jealous!

Take care…

Good morning all! :sun_with_face::sunflower:

Thankfully it seems that this is the end of the mini heatwave :+1:
It’s going to be another stinker so once again a day for getting things done indoors.

I’ve just popped over the road to the convenience shop to pick up a baguette while it’s still cool. I’m not much of an impulse buyer but I couldn’t resist this mini succulent. It needs potting on in a slightly larger ceramic pot. I’ll just use this one as a candle/tea light holder.

Amazon are delivering some gas today…

Looking forward to heating up some breakfast very early on the millpond this weekend while fishing :fishing_pole_and_fish:
Best time of the day!

Have a chilled one people! :sunglasses:

The last hot and dry day but a change is due. Hoping the builders can get the garden room roof on before tomorrow and the predicted rain. I’ll be keeping a supply of chilled drinks in the fridge for them.

Supermarket shopping this morning. No plans for this afternoon.

Have a good day everyone.

Good morning!
A bit dull, but dry & warm

It was hot yesterday so I didn’t do anything much apart from a shower, drinking tea, and reading a book

Today I’m going to a community centre to do lunches, but there have only been a few customers lately, and we do mostly salads anyway, so I’ll probably give that up soon

I still have my computer wires to tidy so I might do that this afternoon … or I might not

I’ve had a feeling lately that I’m not doing much - I’m 75; it’s summer; I have a reliable car; I have savings and a decent pension; yet I seem to be spending too much time just sitting around, and not even doing my hobbies.

So I must get out & about more!

Good morning one and all! On holiday at the moment in Cornwall (so gorgeous and have come here nearly every year since I was a kid). Anybody else struggling in the heat?

I’d much rather be struggling in the heat in Cornwall than here! :+1:
Love it down there, fishing, snorkelling, chips, pasties, ice cream!
Enjoy Tracy… just watch out for the piskies :sunglasses:

Morning all – well I survived the heat yesterday, mainly by staying indoors and closing the blinds! Today the temperatures are forecast to reach around 25c so things are getting cooler!

The beast seemed happy in the garden yesterday, in fact I had trouble getting her to come into the house around 7.00pm! She went out again this morning straight after breakfast. Had a text from her regular servants who say they will be back on Friday around 5.00 pm – have to say I am looking forward to having a lie-in on Saturday morning!

Plan for today is to do the shopping I put off from yesterday. I am dressed in long pink shorts with a matching t-shirt, so if you hear screams of horror coming from the West Country, you will know the cause!

Take care – have a great day

Good Morning Everyone… :sunny:
Oh no! not more sun…
:sunglasses:
Only joking, I love it…heat and all…
I sympathise with everyone who has to work in it though. I remember long hot days in the factory with the constant smell of cutting fluid and sweaty hands on the controls, you didn’t seem to notice the smell so much when it was cooler. The safety gear was a right pain in the buttocks, with smocks, safety specs and steel toe capped boots, and occasionally a particle mask.
A nice change as a postman jogging around all day in shorts.
Everything was working as it should on my walk/jog this morning with ten…Yes TEN! fast reps…I think the cardiologist has got it all wrong… :017:
I was having my breakfast when it sounded like a T46 Tank hurtling down the avenue…It turned out to be the councils new grass cutting machine coming to cut the green next to our house. More like a combine harvester than a mower…
Mower
I think the driver fancied himself as Max Verstappen the way he swung it around the trees…
Just watch my wall mate!..

Hi

Morning All, well lunchtime.

Last night it was 27.5C where I sleep, now 24.5C, fish tank is stubbornly at 27.8C.
I am not entirely with it today, a combination of the heat and the increase in Morphine.

I have loads to do, but need to rest.

Have a good day all.

This is more like it … much cooler today.

I’ve done the housework. Sorted the laundry and now I’ll nip into the village and buy some more ice cream.
