Good morning everyone, a bit of a watery sun this morning, lots of high cloud but it appears no chance of rain until later. It’s about 29/30° at the moment.
Went for my walk this morning, not that early because of this damn daylight savings it doesn’t get light until nearly 7am. Can’t wait for it to end, goes on far too long pandering to those Mexicans south of the border down Victoria and Tassie way.
Since then I have mowed the lawn and sprayed a bit of Roundup along the inside fence line (so am counting on it not raining until very much later).
Will probably get the whipper snipper out later and do a few path edges.
Well that’s my day so far, enjoy yours, any plans?
@Bruce, it looks like you’ve had a very productive start to your day, walking, mowing the lawn, spraying… some people haven’t even had their coffee yet and you’ve already done half a day’s work. Respect!
Over the past 2–3 weeks, I haven’t been feeling very well. I went to see a doctor and had several lab tests done, which took quite a few days. In the end, the conclusion was simply that I need to take better care of myself. Life is a bit like a machine, as we get older, it doesn’t perform quite the same as it used to.
Lately, I’ve started growing hydroponic vegetables for my own consumption. Here in Thailand, it has been raining continuously for several days, which at least helps cool things down a little and makes the weather feel fresher.
Yesterday, I had a little exciting moment,
I managed to fix my printer myself with the help of ChatGPT. I just sent photos step by step, and it guided me on what to do next. Oh my God, I was honestly amazed. I didn’t have to spend money on a technician at all, and now my printer is working perfectly again.Technology these days is truly incredible
Happy St Patrick Day , Ive a parcel to pick up in town , so I will be able to see the Irish Singers and Dancers in the City Centre , we have a very large Slabbed open Square for entertainers. or Markets , It is known to local people as Slab Square or Market place …
Weather looks good for today and the rest of the week, Ramadan is ending Thursday or Friday and Ive been invited to Eid with my Sons inlaws , plenty of nice food and a chance to catch up with extended family.
Hope @Pimmy is feeling better ,have a good day all
Overcast at the moment but forecast to clear up and become sunny anytime now!
In fact the forecast for the rest of the week looks pretty damn good!
I’ve been confident enough to get a hefty load in the washing machine.
Might just have to think about squeezing in a day trip to Brighton before the apocalypse kicks in!
Morning all – sunshine this morning and the birds have re-discovered the bird feeder after my not being here to feed them for more than 2 months!
Happy Birthday realspeed
Have been feeling very depressed these last few days – can’t be bothered to go anywhere or do anything. I think it is because I am missing the family, I spent all that time surrounded by them and now suddenly I am on my own with no-one to talk to! It didn’t help that I spent my birthday on Sunday totally alone and saw no-one. Still I will give myself a good talking to and pull myself out of it.
I tried to join an online friendship group but they require a photo to prove who I am. No way am I posting a photo so told them I would not be proceeding with the application – I am now receiving daily emails telling me what I am missing by not joining. I have asked them to stop but that makes no difference – will have to block them!
Plan for today is to take advantage of the sunshine and get some laundry done (boring) and some housework (even more boring!).
Happy Birthday for Sunday Sheila…A hug on it’s way from Foxy…
And a very happy birthday to you also realspeed, Bruce and me will be coming round to give you the bumps…When he gets here of course…
And a very good day to all the other members who lose their way and wander into the good morning thread by accident…
And not forgetting a happy St Patrick’s day to all our Irish friends…
Beautiful day today and it’s now getting light about half six, I reckon it must be equinox soon (I wish I got that word in scrabble)
Like you though Bruce, I’m cheesed off that the clocks will be going forward soon and it’ll be an hour darker in the mornings again…
I think the mornings are the best bit of the day…
I was out bright and early this morning and I’m still doing the extra bit I added onto my regular walk. You don’t see many people on the canal towpath further down, just a few fishermen, the path is just a muddy swathe through the grass until you come to Northfield Bridge. The bridge is only used by tractors so the farmers can get to the fields on the other side of the canal.
It makes for some good hill work though, and I always run up the steep climb to the top, It always leaves me gasping for breath with wobbly legs.
Once I’ve beaten the bridge, it’s just a flat and muddy lane back to the road and over the railway line. I was just in time to catch the goods train that carries steel from Scunthorpe to Leeds…I assume the steel goes to Leeds, because that’s where the line goes…
while it is sunnydecided to sort vout the water butt downpipe. It got blocked at the Tee off joint. managed to free it as it was blocked by an acorn and roof gunk
Drat !!

4A Bottle of Guinness.
I remember my old man had a 44gallon drum off one of his greenhouses and I have 5000 litres of rain water storage left over from the Millennium drought but I rarely use it for anything.
Just as a matter of interest why does it fill from near the bottom, doesn’t that mean the downpipe is always full of water? How does it cope with mozzies?
That joint half way up has inside an outer gulley to the small pipe which balances with the water in the rain butt. When butt is full to that level then the water overflows into center and down the away pipe
So filled from joint half way up the down pipe via small plastic tube to the top of rain butt
No mozzirsh. this is right behind the greenhouse
