Another quiet day. I don’t think the holiday was celebrated by everyone, so probably noise would be noticed. The neighbors played music in their house, not blasting everywhere. Thankfully, since the weather turned fairly nice in the afternoon.
I’ve been comparing prices with Amazon Fresh and my local Walmart. Amazon owns Whole Foods, that’s really expensive, but they also have Amazon Fresh. Multiple people have encouraged me to check out Amazon Fresh, but whenever I do, I see higher prices than Walmart. On Monday, I decided to make a list to compare prices. Walmart does have the lower prices so far, but Amazon Fresh has more variety in terms of vegan food. Last year, Amazon changed its policy so that customers don’t need an Amazon Prime membership to order food delivery from Amazon Fresh and Whole Foods. I’m still in the middle of checking it out, but that might be another option for me.
Today I’m hoping to make a list for my Walmart online grocery order.
Cafe meet at 11, but dog walk first, and getting the black bin out for collection. How exciting, eh? NfH are late getting theirs out to plonk in front of my house. Maybe I should get dressed quick and put mine there instead. Make a statement, lol.
Good morning!
There has been snow overnight; now it’s still snowing gently, and grey & dull, but no wind
Yes, a light snowfall, not even enough to completely cover the grass in the park, but no doubt the news will report this as severe winter conditions
For the past week or so I’ve been feeling bitty - a bit cold, a bit sniffly, a bit achy, and a bit tired
None of them are too bad on their own, but altogether I haven’t felt up to doing much apart from watching daytime TV, a few YT videos, drinking tea, and getting under the duvet for a doze
I’m told there is a nasty cold or flu bug going around (what’s new?) but I don’t think it’s that, and I’m starting to feel better; hopefully fully recovered by the end of the week
And that’s about it.
Edit - Huh! I knew it!
I’ve just seen a headline on an Online news channel -
Had a meet up with an old friend yesterday in a local cafe’…He reckoned I hadn’t changed a bit since we ran together almost 20 years ago. We reminisced the old days, drank coffee and ate sausage baps together. It reminded me of the times we sat together in the pub planning our next adventure, of which there were many. We decided to meet up every month for a catch up. Jim is still very active with the long distance challenges, he has signed up for a 50 miler in September but he prefers to walk them now…
I left the cafe’ feeling ten years younger and realised that the attraction to Jim was still as strong as the day (or night) it was when we first met on a lonely stretch of moors in the dark, during a 56 mile challenge event. We were practically inseparable for the next fifteen years, completing marathons, fell runs and other miscellaneous races and challenges together.
