Just a quick one today as I’m about to take the wife to the dentist for a checkup. Another grey and murky day here by the seaside. No idea what is going on for the rest of the day, although I suspect it may involve shopping. Later, it will be time to sit down with my other half and have a chat about what’s happening about going away for a trip just before Christmas, as she has serious ideas about going back to Las Vegas for a week, whereas I was thinking about a Christmas Market coach trip somewhere in Europe, either Austria or Germany somewhere.
Spent the day at Sovereign Hill, my daughter hadn’t visited Ballarat before so this is one of its must see attractions. As it is only about 600 metres from the caravan park we walked there. Ballarat was the centre of the mid 19th Century gold rush, this showed its growth from a tent encampment to a rich bustling city.
Went down the old gold mine and enjoyed some of the entertainment as well as the food.
My daughter panned for gold and found some, not enough to retire on yet though
Spent the whole day there it was very enjoyable even watched lollies being made, as I tried to explain to my daughter the demonstration we watched was a daily in the rock shop in Folkestone when I was a kid, (the shop had disappeared when I visited this year)
