Good Morning All.
So much for the BBC Weather Forecast again, it has been belting it down in the night and still is.
Change of appointments yesterday afternoon, I was expecting a visit today.
I have given in and am now having a zigzag concrete ramp put in my front garden.
The logic behind this is an NHS set of rules which require me, because of my medical history to be wheelchaired out the house to an ambulance, not just for emergencies, but for all hospital and clinic visits.
For the 999calls, that requires two ambulances to attend, for non emergency trips, one ambulance with 2 staff on board.
Much as I dislike the idea, I have had to accept their rules and to reduce costs to them, I am having a ramp.
They will not be carefully taking up and replanting my garden, so that is a cost to me.
They will also not be surfacing the ramp to match my existing paths, so that is also down to me.
The next argument was the door widening, needed to allow a standard hand operated wheel chair to get through.
Absolutely no way they where going to be smashing my walls about and fitting bog standard ugly cheapo doors and frames.
So I have agreed to purchase, at my expense, a folding, lightweight, mobility scooter.
The model they want cost £2699, VAT Free, new.
I managed to negotiate the wording to include or one of an identical or better specification.
There are loads of second hand Mobility Scooters on the market at a fraction of the cost of a new one.
I will be getting one of those, a fold up one, lightweight, fits in a car boot, footpath legal and with a range of 10 miles.
I will also still be walking round on my stick and only using the others on a very bad day.

Weather is really bad here, thunder and rain. Need my usual coffee and decide what to do later.

The lull after the storm this morning. Everything is quiet, no wind, and no leaves…Where have they all gone? Had to dodge quite a few fallen branches while out on my walk/jog, but nothing too serious. I slept well last night and got up a bit late, but not too late to do my walk and take Mrs Fox to meet her friend at a garden centre about half an hour away. No shower because I’m still working on it, hope to have it operational for Thursday.
