Good morning! Its dark and quiet, but dry, so I hope it stays that way.
I have a training/interview day today at a local school, so fingers crossed all goes well. Trying to be all nonchalant about it, but secretly quite excited
As Holly has her groom later I have put one of the fleeces from the bed that she lies on in the WM. There is another one on there that can be washed another day when this dries. Canāt put it in the tumble and not sure yet about todayās weather. I might have to bring down my dehumidifier and plug that in next to the airer.
Once I drop her at the parlour I have to dash home for the window cleaner to then clear my gutters. I told him it is ideal while dog not here, as he needs the power, so doors can be left open for the cable. Just as well I have a tiny NHS pension going in today, to cover both costs.
I am waiting for a telephone call - was supposed to go out for lunch with a friend - but she was not well yesterday - so am not sure if it is still happening. To be honest I would rather stay at home. My knees are arguing - I think someone unscrewed them in the night and put them back on the wrongs legs!!
I want to get the leaves swept up outside - theyāre everywhere.
A more serious problem is the archway over the gate. Itās heavy with ivy and is falling over. It canāt be saved. Iām going to get Tony to saw it down - it must be done!
For me, more housework - out for meal with family tonight.
Went for my walk, visited my solicitor, booked a booster jab for next week, bought 4kg of Christmas snags as well as a couple of kilos of Hash Browns and had 10 of those $5 meals delivered.
Good morning from āout in the rural sticksā to you all.
Milder today but very overcast. The odd spot of drizzle is forecast but gradually becoming
drier and brighter through the afternoon. Maximum temperature 13ĀŗC.
Nothing planned today, other than trying to get a GP telephone consultation.
Enjoy your day everybody, whatever you may be doing.
@PixieKnuckles ā Good luck with the training / interview day.
Good morning everyone, just finished clipping both dogs and now enjoying a well earned brew. Pie and mash to cook for lunch then weāll take a walk afterwards before settling down for the afternoon.
Morning all, dull and gloomy here, but dry at least. Have a couple of gingerbread men to make on the embroidery machine today for my granddaughterās teacher and teaching assistant. Dentist later, hooray! First appointment for nearly two years
@PixieKnuckles good luck with your training/interview . Iām quite sure youāre going to wow them!
Good morning everyone a dull damp day but at least it is fine.
More leaf clearing this morning, it is open lawn at the front of the house and all the leaves accumulate on my part . No one else does leave clearing except me in spite of the other houses having able boded men in them
If I donāt clear the leaves they blow inside as soon as the front door/garage door is open.
My brother has sent me a check for Christmas he does every year. My bank has closed so I need to go to the next town Ledbury to deposit it.
I dare not post it off anywhere I need to deposit it in person because I accidently threw it in the waste bin and although I have managed to iron it flat it is still very stained
I collect most of mine and Brown Bin it off towards to Council Tip.
My Greenkeeper Grand Son in Law told me that you must, at the very least, keep moving the leaves around as leaving them alone lets the worms come up and under to wreck your lawn!
Another of the amazing list of useful facts in my half empty brain!
Day off work today as Iām going to meet our very own Summer for a nice catch up, Iām really looking forward to it, we always have plenty to chew the fat over.
I had a better nights sleep last night, I was exhausted after the dreadful sleepless night the night before.
When I woke up this morning my right knee was agonisingly painful, I couldnāt move it for ages it was like really stiff, I donāt know what that was about, I was relieved when I finally moved it and got out of bed. Donāt reckon much to this ageing lark but itās better than the alternative I suppose.
Iām very jealous of Brucies weather, Tabby I hope your friend feels better today, Pixie good luck today! Carol, my garden is a right mess with leaves, come rake mine will ya. Baz good luck with GP consultation. Pie and Mash Barry, mmmmmmmm I can almost smell the cooking, Sheba, dentist arrrrrrgggh, poor you, hope itās pain free. Meg, throw your cheques this way next time haha. Ted, we donāt have a brown bin,are they free or do yuo pay for them? Jazzi, grooming our fur friends can be expensive, but donāt they look lovely when they come home. Aww, post a pic of Holly after her groom.
Hope I havent left anyone out. If I have, apologies and know Iām wishing you all a fabulous and happy day.
just checked and I know my next job. yes it is the roof gutter again, it is full of moss and leaves but as it is drizzling with rain at the moment !!!
At least the 4 oak trees have shed their leaves it may be the the last cleaning for a time
My friend was not well enough to come out for lunch - so I am playing in the Craft Room - trying something new - if it works all will be revealed later!
Back now - thanks for your good wishes! Waiting to hear back, but if all goes well I shall be an exam invigilator! Iām keeping my fingers crossed, because there is a lot of late stage admin to wade through, and if it isnāt completed by the time January exams come around, Iām scuppered.
