Good Morning Tuesday, 13th May 2025

Good morning one and all on a warm, cloudless , Darwin day.

Today I went to the Darwin Military Museum, it was very interesting, more about the Bombing of Darwin starting on the 19th February 1942. Had a brilliant AI film and great grounds full of exhibits.

Followed this up with a walk a trip along the Mangrove Boardwalk - I hoped to see some crocs, but sadly no!

Afterwards a visit to a waterfront pub for a cleansing ale.

Have a good one.

Take care…

Hi

Good Morning All.

A lousy few days, but slowly improving.

Some more great photos Bruce, a lovely trip you are having.

I am stuck inside, so somewhat restricted in how to enjoy the unseasonably warm weather.

Have a great day all.

Good morning from grey, cloudy Italy, more rain on the way this afternoon . Yesterday was a nightmare, driving through a violent thunderstorm which then turned into hail, even the windscreen wipers on maximum speed, weren’t enough! :face_with_raised_eyebrow:. Then I had to walk through a flooded courtyard because of a blocked drain, and got my shoes and feet completely soaked, there must have been at least 7/8 cms of water and one of the soles came apart! :face_with_diagonal_mouth:. I just hope the shoe repairer will be able to stick it back on again, they are my best shoes!
These sort of storms usually occur in the height of Summer when temperatures are in 40s, not in the middle of Spring! We had only been having reasonably warm weather, not too hot. This time of year, we should only have light “normal” rainy days. There’s going to be a lot of damage to our agriculture this year, farmers in our areas had just finished planting and most of it has been washed away! :slightly_frowning_face:

I hope you’re all having better days, please send some sunshine our way.

Our climate has become “all or nothing” recently.

good morn all

Nothing exciting happening here, the only thing is the pain from having teeth removed is easing off a bit. Nothing planned just wondering how much longer it will be before my compact camera is repaired .Still it has only been 2 weeks with days including bank holidays. I recon it will be at least another 2 weeks yet before I can expect it back

That’s a good place Bruce. Well worth making the trip for.

A warmish sort of day. It might rain. Off into town soon to do the shopping that didn’t get done yesterday. I must sort out the back garden later. The lawn is starting to look like a meadow.

Have a good day all.

Morning all – another bright start to the day – temperatures forecast to reach 23c

Well the Apocalypse didn’t arrive yesterday – unfortunately neither did my gardener! When I contacted him to find out what had happened he said, shock horror, he forgot to put it in his diary!! He did say his wife, who is a friend of mine, has told him off about it!

A friend who was passing dropped in for coffee and a chat which was lovely. Although I am used to living alone I do like it when people just drop in

My husband’s nephew who ran in the half marathon completed it in less than 2 hours and raised almost £1,000 for charity.

Off into town today to make more enquiries about my trip to Australia – thinking of using a different airline although it would mean changing in Dubai

Take care – have a great day

Good Morning Everyone… :039:
Bright sunshine for my early morning walk but still a bit nippy until the sun gets a bit higher.
No rain forecast in the foreseeable future and there were a few farmers using the high power sprinklers on their crops. It’s not been uncomfortably hot, but still in the mid 20’s and sometimes cloudy.
It was just a steady saunter this morning and took the camera to show you the few interesting boats mooring here…
At the start of the towpath section there was ‘The Hobbler’ he has been here for a while now.

Lollipop has also been tied up here for a few days now…

Pauline is the next one and looks like it was converted from a working barge, of the type I remember when as a boy we used to come down to the canal and watch lots of barges like this one carry coal to Sheffield or in the opposite direction to the port of Goole and Hull for export.

As I reach the end of the towpath you can see the bridge and a popular mooring for all the narrow boats and pleasure craft.
