Good Morning Tuesday, 10th June 2025

Good morning fellow forummers, still cold but not as cold as yesterday, should get up into the high teens today.

I am very envious of my son in Darwin still enjoying 32° temperatures while I freeze.

When I went out this morning I noticed that the Agave flower was still struggling to bloom I wonder if the flowers will eventually make it to the end of the stem?.

Only about a metre and half to go!

Was out at about 9am to go to my PO Box to pick up a package from Amazon. It was a camera case. This one in particular:

As you can see it only cost about the equivalent of about £12 and should hold my video camera as well as my compact still cameras plus all their accessories. The old case I was using was OK but didn’t offer much protection and didn’t fit the still cameras. If it is no good it can go to the Op Shop but initially I am quite pleased with it. It is not too bulky yet has plenty of padded spaces

Have a tremendous Tuesday.

Take care…

Morning all – dull start to the day although the sun is trying to break through

Gardener came and did his usual magic (although he does have a habit of knocking over the solar lights I have in the garden – still my fault I should move them before he arrives!)

The power points in the rooms at the front of the house suddenly stopped working – I assumed it was a trip switch but for some unaccountable reason the fuse box is high up on the wall in the garage, fortunately it was while the gardener was here and he fixed it for me (I don’t do ladders!)

When he arrived we had our usual chat over a cup of coffee and it occurred to me that it was the first conversation I’d had since Friday afternoon!

Didn’t manage to get to the shop yesterday so that is the plan for today, also my neighbours have invited me out for dinner tonight. They are off on holiday for 4 weeks tomorrow so I will be back on cat servant duty.

Take care – have a great day

A grey day but mild enough. The new fridge/freezer is in but the kitchen still needs a bit of modification.

The groundwork has been started for our new outbuilding (the sheds will be going). It will be good when done but we don’t like the disruption even so. It will take some weeks.

Have a good day everyone.

Morning all. Bright, sunny and warm here by the seaside in southern Hampshire.

Today marks the third anniversary of the day I retired, and it seems like it was only three months ago. Can’t say in all that time, I missed it, but I do miss the money. Unfortunately, being retired means I now have to work for the wife and on considerably less money and for longer hours.

So today, Mrs G is off to see to my father-in-law with yet more doctors and hospitals and stuff. Meanwhile I’ll may well be cutting the grass in our garden and cleaning up the front drive, if I can find the energy. May decide to wander up and feed the swans and cygnets which have nested nearby - or simply go for a drive somewhere, now my car has been given a clean bill of health with its MoT yesterday. I also have some admin to do for our cruise to finish off, so I might do that as well.

Have a great day all…

:sunny: :grinning: :+1:

Good morning!
A bit dull, but dry

Well, I went away for the weekend for my daughter’s 40th birthday party, which was excellent!
Lots of people, food, and booze, and a good time was had by all, but no one drank to excess, not even me! ( I think that definitely makes me an old man)

Birthday girl’s presents seemed to be mostly chocolates, champagne, assorted cosmetics, and jewellery, and she was happy with all of them

Today I’m generally tidying & pottering & dozing - can’t take the pace any more!

Good Morning from Foxy’s World… :sunglasses:
Managed half a day in the garden yesterday after running our neighbour about.
Mrs Fox and her have gone into town this morning, on the bus…
:bus:
That has left me with plenty of time to peruse the forum.
Did some heavy lifting yesterday, cutting bits off the lawn and putting them in the green bin for Thursdays collection, and I’m feeling a bit stiff today. You just don’t realise how out of shape you get when not going to work anymore.
Still some bits to do in the garden so I better get orf before Mrs Fox comes home…

Good morning all!

All exciting stuff today. I’ve run down the fridge and rubbed down the interior with white vinegar and bicarbonate of soda and left it overnight. Very effective as a cleanser/deodoriser but home smells like a chip shop at the moment. I’ve nearly finished wiping down with hot water and fairy liquid before putting the shelves back.

I have a small bedside table to assemble later…

There’s also an electric colour changing wax melt/ essential oil diffuser arriving from Amazon. I’ve had quite a few sleep issues over the past year or so. I’ve revamped my bedroom. New bed and all new bedding and rugs in blues and greens .
That should help :v::first_quarter_moon_with_face::zzz:

Have a good day people! :+1:

Good afternoon everyone, well I’m now the third person to talk about fridges today, what a coincidence! Mine is a very negative situation though, the fridge has gone mad, it has literally turned into a freezer! Milk, veggies, cheese, all frozen! This has been happening for four days now, since we came back home, I thought it just needed to “reset” itself so I thought I’d wait a few days , I hadn’t switched it off but for three months it had been practically empty and never opened. I spoke to a technician on the phone and he told me to unplug it and leave it open for 36 hours. It’s a fridge/freezer so I’ve had to transfer all the frozen stuff to our chest freezer in the cellar and luckily we have a little fridge in the attic where I’ve put all the refrigerated stuff. I hope this procedure works! The technician is coming anyway this afternoon because my washing machine’s gone potty too! Actually, I had already noticed a strange, very loud noise many months ago but just tried to ignore it, until the other day when I found water on the floor. Where it came from, remains a mystery, from underneath is the only place, no leaks from the plumbing parts. If that’s not enough, no TV reception, either! What else?
My dishwasher’s OK.!

Temperatures still rising, we could hit 40C, it’s all or nothing here, too hot or too cold! Which one would you choose?

I should also give the fridge a good clean while it’s switched off.

If my fridge had gone potty I think I’d choose the cold option :wink:
Good luck with those appliances Rose! :+1:

Thanks @Chilliboot.
Yes, no fridge - cold option more useful.

today Sue’s Honda Civic Estate is in the garage for a service and MOT so should be good for another year, just needed rear brake shoes replaced.
Also got an email saying my Panasonic DC-TZ95 compact camera has been repaired so get that back on Thursday. The window cleaners came just now as well so another job done.
Apart from that and waiting for Christmas nothing changed
