Good morning to everyone, at last the morning was fine following a very handy 9mm of rain yesterday.
Went for a good walk this morning after a couple of days missing out, so nice to be out and about again. Might have a thunderstorm drifting past late this arvo but otherwise the day is quite nice with temperatures in the high 20s.
On the way home from my walk called into my PO Box to pick up a parcel from Temu, There was a little table, plastic trim levers and some some copper nails. The latter for a tree I have been trying to kill for ages but which keeps surviving repeated applications of neat Roundup. Being Temu I thought they might be copper coated steel but they are definitely not magnetic.
Yes, I know Temu stuff is cheap and nasty but that is part of its appeal. Isn’t it?
Probably spend some of the afternoon snipping up some of the branches I cut down the weekend before last and get another load in the green bin for Friday’s collection.
I caught a mouse in my trap yesterday, I can only assume the rain drove it into the house because I haven’t caught one for over six months.
Anyway, it is Tuesday, another day on this side of the grass, enjoy it.
Good morning!
Dull & cloudy but dry and not too cold
Nothing much planned for today
My flu bug has mostly gone now, so I’ll continue with the cleaning, tidying, and domestic stuff
Might go to a supermarket this afternoon
Im waiting in for a food shop , Ive ordered Lamb Shanks , and a Brisket joint, Im going to be busy cooking these and freezing meals .
Bungalow at back of me is having an extension , so its been a bit noisy the last couple of days , while they dig out the footings . Glad they doing it now before the summer starts or no one would be able to sit out .
Weather is overcast , we did have a bit brighter day yesterday for a short while , lots of rain water is making peoples lives a misery , so glad I’m not in a flood zone .
But I’m not that far away from where the next street has been flooded over the last few years . I think they may have sorted it now though .
I grind my teeth when I hear about Lamb Shanks, the local butchers used to give them away for your dog, now suddenly they want you to buy them? and they have become so popular
Lamb used to be the cheap meat, now it is up there with pork and not far off the cost of beef. Can’t go to the butcher any more and buy half a lamb for $10 or $15 (and he’d cut it up for you)
My middle son loves lamb shanks too (much to my annoyance).
lambs expensive over here @Bruce, I wouldn’t dream of giving it to my dog,Lamb Shanks were on the wedding Menu , I guess it all depends on where you live,.Australia is a Country of many Sheep. We use to be a country of Cattle now since the Foot and Mouth all those years ago , we don’t see so many , Chicken as become massive over here , Its most affordable ,Intensive chicken breeding where they keep up to 40Thousand Birds ,is popular .
