Good Morning Thursday 8th May 2025

Hi

Good Morning All from a dry, chilly, overcast Shrewsbury.

Another bad night and still not good.

Kinga is here soon, which will be great, she is doing the indoor plants today for me as well as the usual.

I have a delivery of 16 small coral frags, really tiny things, only a cm in size to grow on in the marine tank, which will take a lot of fiddling about later in the day.

I hope you all have a great day.

Good morning @swimfeeders and all who follow

I am staying at a place called Larrimah, basically a pub. It has some notorious history according to my son,I have no idea what it is unless it is a missing man.

I should be in Darwin tomorrow then a few days with my son and future daughter in law before returning home.

Take care…

Morning all – another overcast day

My brother rang on Tuesday with the news that my Mother had passed away. I had been planning to visit Australia to see her for her 100th birthday in December and did consider not going now but decided I would like to see the rest of the family. Travelled into town yesterday and got information about flights – just have to check with my brother whether he would be prepared to put up with me for 2 months!

My neighbour called in yesterday afternoon with her weekly delivery of home made cake and was very supportive when I told her the news.

Today is the usual Thursday meet up with the girls, I’m not sure if I will go as I don’t feel very sociable at the moment

Take care – have a lovely day everyone

Morning all. Another bright and sunny day here in Hampshire. Not sure what’s happening today, but there is a ancient fort not too far from me with a moat which is become home to wildlife. There is a nesting pair of swans living there and have just heard they have had their cygnets hatch, so I may grab my camera, wander down there and see if I can take a pic or two.

Sorry to hear about your Mum Sheila, love and hugs are winging their way to you…
:hugs: :hugs: :hugs: :hugs: :hugs: :hugs: :hugs:

Happy VE day everybody, Mrs Fox was out early practising for her gig tonight at the church.
Very overcast and blustery this morning but it didn’t feel as cold, but I did get on my toes for a couple of fast sprints so that might have warmed me up. sometimes while I’m out walking I get the urge to just run as hard as I can. It feels great remembering how it felt and pushing the leg muscles and lungs until you think they will explode. Of course I can only keep it up for a couple of hundred yards these days and with the lungs gasping for air, and the legs turned to rubber it’s so hard to keep walking for a while and staggering all over the path.
Good job nobody is watching…
Love your good morning presentation Mart…
:+1:
I’ve got a dentist appointment to repair a broken tooth in one hour and it’s at the other side of town so I better get my skates on, so I’ll catch yer all later…
:grimacing:
Open wide Mr Fox…
:worried:

More overtaking photos:

Early this morning I pulled to the wrong side of the road to overtake a roadtrain. As I approached it started indicating and pulled out in front of me

It turned out (s)he was overtaking those cyclists I saw yesterday

Once the truck pulled back into the left hand lane then I was able to get past.

Everybody was happy

Sorry to hear about your mother @SheilaP but she lived to a good age (not much consolation I know)

Sorry, didn’t read your post until I after posted the above

@SheilaP … condolences. It’s a terrible thing when your mother leaves you. For some reason it seems to hit much harder than the passing of other loved ones does. A mum is special.

Not a bad day for me. I’m in a good mood as at my three monthly hospital checkup they were pleased with my progress. Of course, the nice weather helps too.
