Good morning to you all on this thirsty Thursday. Another lovely sunny day as we inch toward Spring.
Seniors’ meeting this morning including our AGM so lots of minutes to write - hence my tardy post. It is also bin day so that is my next job.
I was looking at the date and realised that our US friends will all agree with us on the date 8/8/24 (also shows that I am a bit desperate for content.)
Have a lovely day where ever you find yourself. Take care…
Morning all – dull and overcast again this morning. Rain forecast for most of the day
Good luck with the minutes Bruce - I used to be Treasurer of a local charity and writing the yearly report was a necessary pain!
Gardener arrived yesterday and replaced some rather boring plants in one of the planters with some lovely bright ones, he also tackled the weeds between the pavers again – something he has to do every time he comes (I swear they are triffids as they are so tough to get rid of!)
Sorting through the silver yesterday came across a silver bottle opener in the shape of a dolphin!! I have no idea where it came from, probably one of husband’s auction purchases! I have decided to keep that one!
I’m a tad annoyed – I ordered more books yesterday and expected them to be delivered Saturday – have received an email to say they will be delivered today and for some reason I can’t reschedule. I have a busy day today and won’t be home for most of the day! Hopefully the driver will use some common sense and leave the parcel somewhere out of sight (I have had deliveries where the parcel is just left leaning against the front door!)
Meeting with someone this morning to pay for a day trip to Windsor later this month. Then meeting my sister in law for lunch
Had a barnstormer of a run this morning. Woke up early, 5:45 am, and was out on the road for half six before most of the traffic and dog walkers had realised it was light…
Just saw a regular bloke with his two old labradors dawdling along the towpath, nice chap…
Arrived home and was presented with this, for services rendered to Cheryl the other day, when I got her car going enough to avoid the call out fee when her battery became flat…It was only fifteen years old…
Had a very nice lunch and walk down at my daughters yesterday, Jacket potato with chilli, home made chill too, and then a walk onto the Edlington Pit Tip that has been turned into a nature reserve and recreational area. It’s got woodland, wild pastures, lakes, and it’s criss crossed with paths and tracks. It’s very high in places and stunning views over Doncaster at the top. It would have been excellent running training if I’d still been a proper runner…
Somehow I lost my draft and now I have to do something about this wild tornado of dogs that are wrestling their way though the house.
OGF, how come no one left me a Cadbury bar after my run? Apparently I have to go help someone with a flat tire or something. You seem to have so many lovely choices for pastoral outings, and it’s fun to travel along vicariously.
Sheila, I envy you the gardening. The weather conditions here are so fierce that we are just watering and watching everything wither. Nice treasure you found!
Bruce, thank you for bringing up the date. We can all enjoy blissful day of detente before firing up the cannons again.
On hold sorting out electrical bill issues and then it’s off to the dog park.
Im back from our holiday in Portugal, been there for the last week or so
was it hot? lowest temp 32c highest 43c. took loads of photos and videos to post some went sorted
