Followed by a stroll over what used to be the F6 (and still is to most people) but which I believe is now called the M1. Always busy - main route from South Coast and Illawarra to Sydney - needs to be three lanes.
It’s Thursday, so bin day in the morning, I did debate whether to put my red bin out, not really necessary but I pay for the damn service so might as well.
The good bit, Kinga is here for a couple of hours, hardworking, great sense of humour, very intelligent and determined.
Her 8 year old daughter is also hilarious, she is the one as determined to get a snake as her mother is not to have one in the house.
Always fascinating to see how the mother/daughter battle is proceeding.
The day then goes rapidly downhill, my advocate is here together with a Social Worker
I have met the Social Worker before, talks in riddles, refers to me as a Service User and is as woke as they come.
Talks about progressive and exciting developments they are involved in, how many lessons are being learnt and then disappears into the dust without actually doing anything except ruin my day.
They, and they are a they, always start by asking how I would like to be addressed as it would be presumptive of them to assume how I define myself.
Not a great deal planned for today, just stuff and bits and pieces.
I’ve finally come to the conclusion that my tins of reduced price haggis are revolting !
Hopefully we’ll be indulging in a little fishing on the mill pond early tomorrow morning. I fancy a bit of touch ledgering for those in the know. It might be worth mushing up some of the haggis with some powdered groundbait and popping it into a small swimfeeder as an attractor.
Morning all…A bit grey and windy down here in southern Hampshire.
For the last few days, Mrs G has been dropping subtle sidewise hints about wanting to book another cruise, as in “I want to go on a cruise” - and things like that. So on pain of death, I booked one, not long having done one a few weeks ago. However, this does come with a major bonus. We are sailing next August and we’ll be circling Iceland (just like before) and stopping at a small town called Isafjordur on the north-western corner of Iceland, and given the date, time and location, is in the direct path of a total solar eclipse, which explains why it was nearly full booked and more expensive than last time.
As for today’s fun and games…Mrs G is off to the gym again and I still have to sit down and order my lens for my camera (been promising myself this for ages), and that will have to include some solar filters and glasses for the big event next year. But my record of witnessing and capturing astronomical events has been appalling as my efforts are always thwarted by extreme cloud cover.
Anyways, my morning coffee awaits and maybe a muffin or two.
My lovely neighbour came in with her weekly delivery of home-made cakes yesterday. Was very apologetic and she said she had left them in the oven too long and she thought they might be a bit burnt! Sent her a text last night with a cake report – delicious!
The solicitors I used for my Will are continuing to prove my point about their incompetence! When the solicitor left he said he would drop the certified copy into me on his way to work on Tuesday. It is now a week and I still haven’t received it!
Today is the normal get together with the “girls” (or as normal as we can be!) after that grocery shopping
Good, whatever it is when I finish writing my post…
Slept in this morning and didn’t get out for my walk/jog until 8:00 am, not a best time but very fast and probably too fast for my own good. I feel great while I’m up on my toes, but after a shower and breakfast it’s all downhill…
Been having trouble shutting the bathroom window, something catching, so that’ll be my first job this afternoon. Don’t want folks gawping at me while I’m in the shower…
Good afternoon everyone, the ‘heat is on’ again! Extremely hot today, high 30s, the unusually cool front has finally left us. We’d never had such low temperatures in August!
Yesterday evening, for dinner, I ate tofu for the first time. My daughter likes trying out new dishes, she prepared tofu nuggets with Greek yogurt sauce. I was surprised how yummy it all was!
Went shopping with mum this morning, there was hardly anyone around in town, all on holiday somewhere. Lucky them!
I will never cease to be amazed at the rate of increase in food prices over the last few years!"
Where are we going to end up, at this rate?
