Good morning all, blowing a hooley here with very heavy showers, so the dogs may have to wait awhile for their morning constitutional.
We have visitors for lunch today so I’ll be mucking out the dining room and throwing down some clean sawdust, whilst Rosemary scrapes together a few morsels for us to feast on.
Swimmers, I have bought 4 Pearl Gouramis for the tank.
Have spoken to the Aquatic centre about the babies, they would like them to get just a little but bigger before they take them.
Barry, apparently there was a storm just a few miles up the road to us yesterday. It missed my town. Susie, did you see it? Wonderful photos of the huge black clouds on FB. We still have some winds here, which I had thought were supposed to ease by last night.
I want to walk towards town one day for a wool shop (not taking car anymore for short journeys) but don’t like walking in the wind. It tires me out, lol. A lot of my socks have holes at the heels and need darning. This shop has just what I need,
No I never Janet, but they have closed our Coastal path where we sit behind our house, as all the railings going down the steps and path have collapsed in the storms and wind, waiting for someone to repair them now.
I found a spider in my clothes this morning! This makes the 7th one I have spotted since I moved here. Every time I feel a tickle on my skin, I’m convinced there’s a spider on me - no wonder I can’t sleep!
And its raining and miserable - but I’m still going out for a walk later. Maybe stamping in a few puddles will cheer me up!
I woke up in the night to Gert barking (very vey unusual) could not see a thing looking out the window assumed t was simply the wind got up this morning to find my neighbours Ariel has blown off the roof and is hanging by the coaxial cable alone. LOL it is banging againt the house and luckily missing their kitchen window and back door. Who would of thought it.
It rained all day yesterday and rained most of today. A thousand people were evacuated and people rescued near me, This afternoon one of those big super sucker trucks drove up and pumped out the stormwater drain next to my house it must have been partially blocked and causing floods further up stream. I’m not flooded, my rain gauge overflowed so I don’t know how much rain I got…
Braved the rain to get some shopping but apart from that haven’t been out but am really pissed off with La Nina which is continuing,
Hope your weather is better.
Edit: according to this evenings news Wollongong received 203mm rain in the 24 hours to 9am and 103mm since then. Told you it was wet
Good morning everyone …very windy here and the washing dried in no time.
I have been busy got got lots done, just going to slice up some chocolate raisin and nut slab for the children to take when I go up on Saturday then I want to get the ironing done.
One of the dogs (Gertie) got me up 4 times in the night with a dodgy tummy, so I was very tired this morning, and slept longer than intended. She’s much brighter now, but only a very light tea of fish or chicken tonight, me thinks.
Bad gusty winds here today, I keep checking everything is safe with things blowing about all the time. I don’t like it.
I have spent a lot of time today trying to sort out my water bill, and get on a better tariff. Success at last, so we’ll see how much difference it makes on the next bill.
Had some chicken/veg soup lunchtime, and will be having vegetable pasta for me tea. I am hungry already.
Have fun.
