Good Morning Thursday 31st October 2024

Good Morning All on this last day of October.

I was up early this morning, tidied up my son’s flat and set off for the train station. I arrived home just after 11am

Have since spent the middle of the day sorting out the Seniors’ branch business ho hum.

Supposed to be a storm this arvo after a lovely sunny Spring day. I took some photos over the last couple of days but will probably put them up as another thread(?)

Take care - only two months of the year left!!

Good morning everyone, still quite warm here for this time of year, nice sunny days.
My daughter arrived yesterday and she was absolutely thrilled when she came out of the station and saw our beautiful blue sky. She doesn’t get to see much of the sun up North, it rains a lot, always cloudy and it’s cooler, apart from the Summer months of course
Mind you, I better not speak too soon, out here in the countryside up in the hills, winters can be really harsh  I always pray it won’t snow because the council snow ploughs don’t even come and clean our roads, only the ones down in the village.

Happy Halloween.

Good morning all!
Nothing major planned for today, a trip to Sainsbury’s to pick up some supplies and goodies. Chilli junior will be carving a pumpkin for the front room tonight to celebrate Halloween :jack_o_lantern:

I’ll be making lambswool, a traditional mulled drink although I still haven’t decided wether or not it’s going to be a good quality strong cider or ale, decisions, decisions! I do intend roast crab apples and use the pulp to add to the drink rather than Bramleys. Must remember to buy those nutmegs.Happy Halloween forum people!

Good morning!
Cloudy & dull, but dry

I have a job planned for today, something I’ve been putting off for several days
The front of my block of flats has small bays for the rubbish & recycling bins, and yes, they do make for a neater appearance and mean that the bins are not just dumped around randomly
The disadvantage is that they are traps for dead leaves & litter, so I’ll tidy & sweep out the bay for my & neighbour’s flat — a tedious job but I’ll feel much better when it has been done

Then a cup of tea, a shower, and ready to face the world! … though nothing particularly planned

Morning all – bright sunshine this morning if a little chilly

Well the cleaner didn’t show up yesterday! Sent her a message asking if she wanted to re-schedule, no reply. I tried another company which said they had availability, they sent me a list of what they include in a “deep clean” and what is included in a “general clean”, apparently a general clean does not include cleaning floors! So still looking

Delayed placing an order with Amazon until the delivery day was quoted as Saturday – received an email this morning to say it is being delivered today by 9.00pm! Why do they do that? I am meeting friends for coffee today and out for dinner with neighbours tonight. I will have to leave the wheelie bin next to the door and hope they have enough sense to put the parcel behind it (the parcel is too big to go through the letterbox)

Take care – have a lovely day

@SheilaP I get that all the time with Amazon… they don’t deliver on the day they say, the day I’m at home, or they reschedule for a day that I’m working!
The times I’ve had to rearrange my days

I don’t buy much from Amazon now as it’s all but impossible to avoid signing up to Amazon Prime, which I don’t want
But if I do I have items delivered to a delivery point - a local newsagent - then I can collect things as it suits me
Similarly for Post Office/Royal Mail deliveries, if I’m not in, it’s a longish walk or short bus ride to their parcels depot

I get all my stuff delivered to my PO Box rather than my home, much more secure and only a couple of hundred metres from my home. It is better than the postal service now too because it has deliveries daily whereas house deliveries are only every other day.

Feeling a bit melancholy this morning as I ambled into the woods and kicked my way through the piles of leaves strewn about the path. I was thinking about those balmy days of summer and hoped that this years winter was going to be a kind one. I just hope they are right about global warming…

It’s still warm enough to be out in shorts even though I have to do some jogging to keep warm. That’s my excuse anyway.
I’ve been reading about ‘Earthing’ just lately, where you walk barefoot on some damp grass, so this morning after returning from my walk I gave it a go…

Energy is supposed to flow from the earth into your body and make you feel better…So I’ll see if my energy levels has been restored with a walk down to the pharmacy to collect my prescription. Who knows, I might be able to come off all of my meds…
In all the excitement I forgot to post this photo of a bit of a rainbow I took on Monday.
Happy Halloween Folks…

Maybe sometimes we should disregard the contrived/ politics and just celebrate what we have!
Sometimes simple is good!
