Morning all – once again a sunny start but now starting to cloud over

Those long open roads are so different to travelling in UK Bruce! I am sure you will be glad to get home but how long before you get itchy feet again!

Having my usual Thursday morning meet up for coffee cake and gossip with a group of friends and this afternoon the gardener is due to arrive

I also need to contact my neighbour to ask his advice (see men are useful for some things). During the heavy rain at the weekend I had a puddle of water in the garage, it came in under the garage door. I did speak to my brother who said it might be the door needs adjusting although I am wondering if I should just replace the doors. I like to ask men for advice as the male of the species is lower on the evolutionary scale and therefore have a simpler view of things (dons hard hat and hides behind sofa!)

Take care – have a great day

We have already been down the tip getting rid of some rubbish- into a garden center- into Mark and Spencers- and a visit to the post office for some euro currency. now time for a coffee.

Good morning - Not a bad sort of day. Some Sun and 18ºC. We have been to the practice nurse to get the dressing changed on Mrs mart’s injured leg. Also pick up a couple of medical items. Still kind of grounded for various reasons, so not much else is planned.

sue said the front porch gutter was overflowing. So i went to check and clear and what happened ? a sudden downpour of rain. anyway decided to carry on and the downpipe was well and truly blocked

this is what came out. Instant garden compost

will clear this up later on ,still got the garage one to do as well. when the weather is a bit better looks as if the Skyvac machine my be worth doing the roof gutters before they get blocked up

Good morning!

Back from the mad dash to New Orleans. With the chaos of juggling several building projects, it was good to downshift for the day. We spent most of the day in the French Quarter, but wandered over to the Four Seasons for lunch and wandered around the 18th century houses and stopped for beignets and coffee on the way out of town. The morning began with at a sultry 91°F with high humidity, but a summer squall moved in later in the day to cool things off.

Here are are a few photos of the French Quarter condensed to a single page. The carousel has been converted into a bar inside a little boutique hotel. The church is the St. Louis Cathedral, which replaced an earlier church that burned down as the result of a fire when the lace curtains in a nearby mansion caught fire from a candle. Along the Mississippi River are several paddleboats designed for scenic tours and private dining along the winding riverfront.

Have a good day!
