Good Morning Thursday, 30th April 2026

Good morning everyone, joy of joy, I was woken during the night to the sound of rain on the roof. It turned out to be only 2mm but it was much needed.

Walk as always this morning, I could smell smoke and sure enough in the distance there it was, I presume it was a hazard reduction burn but don’t know for sure. It is this time of the year that these take place. Sydney has had a lot but this is the first one I am aware of in this area. The weather is ideal - warm, dry (despite last night’s rain) and little wind.

Despite the welcome rain it is actually a very pleasant day much the same as the preceding ones with temperatures in the mid 20s and not a cloud in the sky.

Bin day in the morning so I was out there with my hand saw getting some of the larger wood cut up to put in the green bin, my landfill bin, as always, is nearly empty.

Anyway have an enjoyable day, I don’t have much on today.

Take care.

Morning all – sunny day, if a bit windy

Yesterday went to the club for older people at the church – it only meets once a month and usually has some interesting speakers. One of my sisters-in-law was there, she suggested she should follow me back to my house for a coffee and catch-up. All went well until it was time for her to leave and she asked how to get back to an area she knows, I told her – turn right at the top of my road, turn left at the roundabout and then straight on. She wrote it down, repeated it, got it wrong. I told her again, she again got it wrong! Eventually I got into the car with her to guide her – when we got close to the roundabout I told her to pull over so I could get out, at that point she became confused and almost caused an accident with a bus! I really don’t think she should be driving – I don’t know about the bus driver but she certainly scared me!

I had to call on my neighbour for help again! One of the under-cupboard lights in my kitchen fell out of its fitting and I couldn’t work out how to put it back. Despite being busy getting ready for their holiday he called in and sorted it for me. I really don’t know what I would do without them! I did hear them leave for the airport at 3.00 am this morning – my insomnia isn’t getting any better! As our postman has a habit of leaving post hanging out of the letter box I will be checking and taking it in, also I will be watering their plants. I know I shall miss taking care of the cat – I will still expect to hear her telling me off for being late!

Today’s plan is the usual get together with the girls followed by some shopping

Take care – have a great day

Good morning one and all .

A beautiful sunny day … I opened up a bag of Miracle grow to pot my plug plants up to find its mostly shredded wood, very disappointed and Im guessing it will be a Miracle if my plants grow in it !

I’ve got some Sausages sizzling in the pan , and I can’t decide what to put with them .must make my mind up or they will be toast.

@SheilaP glad you survived the car journey , Ive seen drivers like that who should have stopped driving years ago . But they have come to depend on a car , getting a bus pass was every thing I wanted it to be …Free travel and go any where . I have plans of going across Country for my holidays .

@Bruce …enjoy the rain ,we have rain forecast for the weekend , its much needed in the garden .

Have a good day all

Good morning all…

Another bright and sunny day in my part of the world. Just got back from coffee and a toasty sandwich and have a look at the swans and geese nearby. This week has been a bit of a panicked rush with packing for our cruise, which we start tomorrow. Only this morning the wife tried on her fancy evening dress and found that it needs some stitching at the last minute, and it wrestling with it as I write this. I also have to get her to her chiropractor later today, and pack the last of all four suitcases we’re taking, as well as some last minute shopping for odds and ends. We have all the boarding passes, tickets and vouchers printed off and need to fill my my ipad with assorted films and programmes, assuming the cabin TV doesn’t have much to watch while we’re in there. Someone sent me a long range weather forecast and it seems temperatures will be dropping every day and we can look forward to snow at about the -4DeC mark - means its time to pack the woolly jumpers.

Have a great day all…
