Good morning all, it is a lovely warm day with temps in the mid/high 20s. Enjoying the last of the early morning sunshine before the appalling daylight saving kicks in on Sunday and sends us back to dark, sunless mornings.
Went shopping early for the usual milk, bananas, cheese and goodies, spent over $70 it wasn’t that long ago that I couldn’t have carried $70 worth of groceries. Bought some preprepared family curries to divide up and freeze.
Good morning - Grey skies but brightening as I write. Mrs mart isn’t feeling well so I will accompany her to the doctor’s this morning. Should be back well before the rain that is forecast for later. It should have been my pub day but never mind. Have to get the priorities right.
Bit of a grey and fresh day out today, having just come back from my walk.
No idea what’s going down today in this part of the world, but as it’s the 2nd of the month, that means I need to sit down and count up my savings, being its pension day today.
What with all the drama we’ve had over the last few weeks, I will sit down with Mrs G and have a chat about going away for the weekend for a short break when everything is over with, which may not be towards the end of the month, as it will be nice to get away somewhere and may include a show or something.
Anyways, just come back from my daily walk and check up on the family of swans nearby. Later, there will be coffee.
this machine is at least 11 years old and still works ok, this will be the second time I have had to do this so gets easier every time. one little trick I uses is if the plastic pipe is hard to go over the metal receiving part , all it need is to be put in hot water for a short time to soften it up abit Then fits and shrinks to a tight fit
Please don’t mention acorns they just have not stoppef falling for several days now, it is getting a nuisance having to do the same thing time after time clearing them up
Good afternoon everyone, wow, it’s cold today! Strong North winds blowing making the temperatures feel much lower than they really are! A real taste of late Autumn! Not nice!
Lots going on in our part of the world as you’ve probably heard, after last night’s scenes in the Mediterranean. Demonstrations all over the country, universities occupied, another general strike tomorrow… Oh my, what is the world coming to? I suppose this happens when things just get out of hand…
I’ve just heard about the Manchester attack, I’m going to read about that now.
Sorry to hear you’re still in hospital @swimfeeders, I’m sure they want you to be completely well before sending you home. Best wishes to you.
It’s “Grandparents’ day” today here, a new festivity which was introduced a while back. Do you have this in UK, USA, Australia? Elsewhere?
