Good Morning Thursday, 29th May 2025

Good morning all you Thursday forumers, it is a bit overcast but not looking like rain, cool though, only getting up to 20° again.

Got a few jobs done this morning, restored the clean bedding to my camper so it is ready for the next trip (whenever) and have mowed the grass in the back garden.

The ground is still as wet as so I have been treading down the wheel ruts caused by my returning the camper to the car port. and my daughter’s last visit. However it is showing some signs of drying, at least is is not sloppy mud.

My daughter is visiting again tomorrow for some 4 by 4 event in Sydney and I am looking after her dog on Saturday. It’s a Labrador, much too big and strong for me to take for a walk unfortunately.

Got a message saying my new computer is ready for delivery. Frankly I thought it would be constructed in Oz and I’d get it this week but apparently it is done in China so the delivery date is the 2nd June. :frowning_with_open_mouth:

Nothing very exciting happening today, hope your day is a bit more interesting.

Take care…

The skies are grey at present but it is forecast to brighten up later. Just in time to go to the pub and sit outside for our usual pint of beer and a packet of crisps. Mrs mart is going to her craft group this afternoon, which leaves me free to do a few jobs around the house without us getting in each other’s way,

I’ll spend some time in the garden too. I take pleasure in checking the health of the plants I put in pots or the ground last week. I appreciate that sort of thing more than I did a few years ago.

Have a good day everyone.

Morning all – more rain overnight but it seems to be brightening up this morning

Shocking thing happened yesterday – I refused homemade cakes!!! My neighbour texted said this week she had made chocolate cookies and asked if I wanted any (she usually makes cupcakes or a sponge cake). Had to tell her chocolate cookies are not a favourite of mine so suggested she save them for her husband!

I have now been granted a visa for my visit to Australia – took me a while to work out how to attach a copy of my passport to the online application. I have also received quotes for the flights from Travel Centre who aren’t charging an extortionate amount to book them.

Today is the usual Thursday get together with the girls. As their exercise class isn’t taking place this morning we are all meeting an hour earlier – well we always seem to run out of time before we run out of things to talk about!

A few days ago I started a thread asking how I could change a post. I received a reply that there is a time limit to changing a post – which makes sense, however, I want to know how I can alter a post if I spot a mistake or want to add to it immediately after I have posted it, I know I have done this before but that brain cell has died! Any advice please?

Take care – have a great day

Good morning!
Dull, cool, and light rain

Nothing much planned for today; I’ll just stay in and pretend to do some cleaning

Ah yes, I remember, except it doesn’t appear on any of my posts now!

Morning all

Damp and cloudy after some heavy rain down here in southern Hampshire, with a bit of a blustery wind. Just come back from my daily walk and looking to see what to do. I need to clean up our driveway again with weeds popping through and something has been digging holes in our back garden. Usually foxes, but there is a badger sett nearby and a while ago one of them tore up part of my fence, which was costly to replace.

Naturally, as always, not doing much before my coffee and biscuits.

Have a great day all…

Good afternoon everyone, from sunny Italy, at last! It rained this morning but it should be the last for a while, temperatures increasing and lots of sunshine on the way.
I’ve just heard on the news that it’s 40 years since the Heysel Stadium tragedy. I remember so well that day, I was watching the match with my dad at our home in London, it was just so horrifying and heartbreaking following that disaster on live tv! It was so shocking, I’ll never forget it.

It’s annoying that mistakes can’t be seen, often not until the post is revisited in my case. My typos annoy me. I try to ignore them once made but nearly always feel I need to put them right with an edit.

As mentioned in my previous post the little “pen” symbol does not appear at the bottom of my posts! I am trying to find out why

I can’t find anything in the forum settings that would enable/disable that function (I expect you have already looked). Does clicking the ‘show more’ button (3 horizontal dots) have any effect? Maybe it’s some kind of permission that Azz needs to look at.

Well I don’t know what happened but the pen image has appeared beneath my posts, perhaps it was a blip in the website, who knows, IT’S BACK!

Congratulations Sheila, don’t wear out the nib, you might not get another one!:black_nib:

This one ?

Pleased to read it Sheila. Just another thought on the matter. It is possible to get strange things happen if the browser cache is full. If it does happen again, emptying it is something that could be tried.

Good to hear.

It is always worth reloading a page if things don’t appear as they should, sometimes the browser cache plays tricks on you.
