Good morning friendly, forum friends. It is Thursday and it’s bin day tomorrow morning (exciting eh?)
Warmish day in mid 20s, went for my walk early this morning and called into the supermarket on the way home for a few things like tomatoes, bananas etc.
Decided to have breakfast rather than my shower when I got home, made my coffee, bowl of cereal and went to get my blood pressure tablets… Disaster! I could not find them (new packet) what the hell had I done with them? I rang my daughter to check if I had left the packet in Canberra while I ripped the house apart, searched drawers and shelves, looked under the bed and so on. After about an hour of this I was just preparing to go to the chemist to get another packet when I looked in my senior’s club briefcase as a last desperate try - Dooh! there was the new packet. How stupid am I? why didn’t I put the packet in the drawer with the prescription as I usually do?? Panic over.
Had a cold shower.
Enjoy your Thursday, gotta get the bin out by the kerb. have a good one!
Bruce we all have those “panic” moments. My last one was I thought I had lost my 9mm lens cap. searched everywhere , just about to give up and there it was on the work bench in the garage. I had been trying out various shots with the flashgun
Well, I think this is the second or third day in a row that I haven’t been too sniffly & sneezing - could this be the end of it? … I hope so!
And I actually feel warm too!
However it has left me feeling very weak & tired
By the time I’d had a shower & done the washing up yesterday I just had a late breakfast and got under the duvet for a nap, which lasted till about 5 or 6 in the evening, but I felt much better for it
I didn’t write any letters or emails though
So the plan for today is to collect my prescriptions and do a bit of shopping this morning
I’ll drive to the supermarket by a longer route which will get the engine hot and things generally turned over as I’ve hardly used my car for weeks
Then this afternoon I really must catch up with letters & emails; hopefully into the evening as well, as there’s nothing much on TV
That would mean that I’ll be up to date by the end of the month - just - then I can get back to some sort of normal & useful life
Today is Theatre day , a play called Christmas Carol Goes Wrong , It’s a Comedy , something Ive not watched on Stage before so should be interesting .
I usually miss place my mobile ,and after a good search I ask Alexa to ring the number , the last time it was in my dressing Gown hanging up in the wardrobe , I would never had found it there . Glad you finally found the prescription Bruce . Isn’t it annoying when memory plays tricks on us .
On the subject of Prescriptions , I went to collect mine yesterday , and was told 75mg of Aspirin is in short supply nationally .
Its quite an important tablet to take for some , helping to prevent Strokes and Heart attacks . I got mine thankfully ,
Just come back from my daily walk, whilst stopping for a take-out coffee on the way to feeding the swans. The nearby roadworks made the wander off from their usual patch, not helped by someone doing a bit of landscaping and clearing of the waterway. But I managed to coax them to a bridge and managed to feed them whilst attracting other wildlife, such as pigeons, ducks and coots.
Not a fantastic amount going on today. Drop the wife off to the gym, pick up some parcels, need to size up some materials for an upcoming project I’ve thinking about, as I want to upgrade the insulation in our attic, put down some floorboards, shift some pipework and cables and generally have a tidy up, as it’s a bit of a mess up there - more so since we had new central heating put in a while ago. I really want to get rid of the redundant water tank as its taking up a lot of space, but the thing is heavier then me and it would take some effort to shift it, let alone getting it in my car and to a dump.
Two visitors been and gone, Kinga was here for her usual 2 hours and one of the District Nurses came to give me an injection.
It was one of those where they have to stay for little while to make sure there are no immediate after effects, so a nice chat.
They are having problems with AI, patients using it and being given wrong information.
Far too many using Doctor Google and even worse Dr Facebook.
Very firm instructions not to get out of bed for the next 12 hours after the injection, it can interact with my other Meds.
I shall be watching the new set of Programmes from Dr Brian Cox.
Heb was born a couple of streets away from me in Chadderton, Oldham.
Not a very salubrious area, that is the only thing we have in common.
He has a brain the size of a planet, a professor, a brilliant scientist, very good at explaining things, extremely handsome and in his younger days a member of a leading rock band.
Everyone seems to be up and about this morning doing stuff…
I did my usual early morning walk/jog along the towpath and the weather was kind, better than Tuesday…Mrs Fox has accompanied a friend for a hospital appointment, and then they’re off for a walk round the lake. There’s a Greggs in the shopping complex there, so I expect most of the walking will be round the shops and a coffee in Greggs.
I didn’t manage to get out on the bike yesterday, I pumped up the tyres and I think one of the valves failed and it went flat. So that’s today’s job when I’ve finished on the forum.
The road I mentioned earlier in the week, that I mistakenly said was flooded, has now been closed and is flooded. If I get the bike done, I’ll have another go a photogrophing it.
One Happy Chappy today.

my eye site test reading letters no problem field test one dot less than required so may not be able to drive any more. that is the bad news
The good news is bought a new car. Sold the Nissan xtrail and the Honda. Jjust bought a Skoda karoq brand new petrol version with 16 miles on the clock…So if I can’t drive any more no point in having 2 cars, and if I can drive which I seldom do now we can bolth use and save a lot in insurance and running costs No more worries about the london extra charges either or mot test ol expensive service charges.
