Good Morning Thursday 26th September 2024

Good morning on this frigid Thursday. Yesterday was warm, today is freezing, the over night temperature of 10° is not much different to today’s max of 13° - that’s 15° below yesterday’s max…

Last night’s rain was the first since 17th August so the ground is like a giant sponge, In fact since the beginning of August there has only been 22mm of rain so last night’s 15mm was very welcome.

Seniors’ meeting this morning so I am about to write up the minutes but apart from that I think I will be staying indoors today - too wet and cold to venture out.

Hope your day is better but whatever it is enjoy it. Take care…

Howdy,

Tomorrow from your forecast will be a good day. If down under is raining, it should be sunny :). I hope your Friday will be great Bruce.

Today had a most interesting forum displaying copilot. I wonder what work limitations/influences/paths I will see before retiring due to AI. It does bring more to focus, maybe it is time to turn the corner, get a dog, enjoy the community. 2 more years and I should be able to live life to a fuller potential.

Have a great day all!

Good morning everyone, we should hopefully get a sunny day today after yesterday’s rainstorms. Just as I left home to drive into town yesterday afternoon, buckets of rain suddenly came pouring down, thunder and lightening, :face_with_diagonal_mouth:, wow, that hasn’t happened to me in a long time, couldn’t hardly see anything. :open_mouth: The good side is that my car looks cleaner . as they say, driving through heavy rain gives your car a good old washing

Hi @LookingForward, here’s our finished puzzle, as promised, it’s actually “Sunset in Venice” and not Venice by night as I had mistakenly stated (my son did most of it, especially the final part, with all those identical pieces )

Wishing a sunny day to you all. :sun_with_face:

Morning all – more heavy rain overnight but sunshine this morning – rain forecast for later. It is definitely getting colder, I actually put the heating on this morning!

The good news is the beast didn’t leave any gifts for me this morning – the bad news is that my roof has a leak! Checked the spare room yesterday (only go in there to dust every couple of weeks!) and there was a small patch on the ceiling, checked again this morning and it is wetter. Brother in law calling this morning to have a look, although I have an awful feeling I am going to be faced with having to get in roofers which will be very expensive!

The subject of yesterday’s talk was very interesting, (Thankful Villages), unfortunately, the person giving the talk wasn’t very good, hesitating, mumbling and even sometimes admitting he had forgotten certain details. Still it was a lovely morning out and I had a nice chat with a few people.

Today will be spent fretting about the roof with very little else getting done!

Take care – hope everyone has a better day than I will

Good morning - Heavy overnight rain here too but sunny with partial cloud this morning. Well done on that jigsaw puzzle Rose2. I’m sure you did your bit  Must have taken ages. Hope the roof isn’t too bad SheilaP

Pub day today. It’s always just the one pint and a bag of crisps but it means a good natter with a long term friend every week.

We met around 45 years ago through our wives. They had become friends when helping to run a day childcare group. It’s her who’s allotment my Son and I help with …or did up until the time I ‘got a bit of trouble’.

Good Morning from Foxy’s World…
Some heavy rain overnight but apparently it didn’t last too long and it was fairly dry this morning. Low pressure has stalled over South Yorkshire making it very still and mild, and the promise that rain isn’t too far away…
I managed to complete my walk/jog without getting wet. Sorry to hear about all the floods down South, I can’t ever remember so many floods occurring around the world in my younger days. It makes me wonder if all this tampering with the balance of nature is making the extreme weather worse instead of better… :017:
First job this morning is to cancel my home insurance that is due to start next week. They told me the premium would be taken by auto payment. So when I emailed them to tell them…“Not bloody likely” :009: they said I would have to cancel it by phone instead.
I have be unable to find out what this years premium will be, and this morning I get an email telling me that they are going ahead and taking the money out of my account and I was gobsmacked when I noticed it had gone up by 50% from last year… :astonished:
They can do one… Give me that phone…
That’s a brilliant jigsaw Rose, what are you going to do with it now it’s completed?
I’m going to glue mine to a board and have it framed, I just haven’t the heart to take it to pieces… :worried:
Home your roof can be sorted without too much expense Sheila, but it’s not a good time of year to have a leak…Not that anytime is good… :009:
Give Millie a squeeze from me too…
:cat2:

Good afternoon :sunglasses:
I haven’t been able to post for a couple of days due to having the lenses in both eyes replaced on Tuesday. My vision has been very blurry making it impossible to see my phone screen but things are clearing up nicely now. I’ve been told not to do any exercise for a few days so I can spend some time catching up with the forum gossip :+1:

Thank you @mart, @LookingForward, @OldGreyFox, @Besoeker.
Yes, I suppose I did my bit at the beginning and in the middle, but towards the end…???, I managed a few, though.
We’re going to frame it just like we have done with other puzzles in the past, couldn’t bear to take it apart.
