Good Morning Thursday, 25th June 2026

Good morning on what started out as a bit of a damp day. However it only resulted in less than 1mm of rain and the sun is out now :slightly_frowning_face:

Seniors’ meeting this morning, have just finished writing the minutes, only about 18 people in attendance, the wet weather deters people from venturing out.

I posted my letter to my MP yesterday about the daily supply charge doubling but decided to write to the Minister for Energy too, if anyone is to blame he must be the one.

Will probably go for a walk this arvo now that the sun has come out, I think the overnight cloud also stopped the night time temperature getting too low.

Take care one and all, enjoy your Thursday where ever you are.

Hi All
Half past 5 in the morning here and a lousy nights sleep. far too hot and muggy.

It will als0 be hot again today.

I am getting to know the system and the staff, who you can joke with and get a coffee at night etc.

3 types of salad last night, I fancied all of them, got a portion of each.

The home consists of two 18th centuary mansions joined together, tall windows, large sliding windows etc,

My room is ground floor, looking over some formal gardens at the rear so no traffic noise, the house is 800 metres from the centre of the town and directly opposite Charles Darwin’s house, which is now an upmarket B&B.

I didn’t see much of this paradise yesterday, a severe angina attack caused me trouble.

I mentioned it yesterday, but left some events out.

They were very well rehearsed, two of them had me into a medical room opposite, stripped off, on a shower chair and being washed down

The senior nurse arrived very soon afterwards, followed by another one I had not seen before.

It was surreal, 4 30 something ladies making sure a naked Swimmy had not injured himself, and examining all of me before deciding I was OK swilling me down new clothing and then put back into my bed with new sheets etc.and then doxing off as the Morphine kicked in,

A lot better now, but confined to bed,

Good morning all to those who follow…

It looks like we’re in the news, at least the small part of the country where I am that is officially the hottest place in the UK at 36.1DegC. To be honest, it felt like 40.

We went down to the seaside for a while and tried to eat an ice cream which melted faster than we could eat it. There is no wind or breeze or anything. The only place to cool down was sitting in the car with the AC on maximum. Last night was a hot sleepless affair and I’m exhausted with lack of sleep. The temp today at about 8:00am is 28DegC, and looking to rise to 33 later. Its supposed to be cooling over the next few days. We could use a thunderstorm right about now, as it would break up the humidity.

Morning all – don’t think I need to tell you the weather today! Forecast is for it to even hotter than yesterday

I certainly don’t want a thunderstorm Graham, but I would welcome some rain!

Day has started off badly, managed to knock my favourite coffee mug off the kitchen counter – it is now an ex-coffee mug!

The local radio presenter is encouraging people to ring in to tell their middle names, but she is broadcasting their full names – isn’t this to sort of information that online scammers look for?

It is the Thursday coffee get together with the girls today, although I am not sure if the village hall (where we meet) will be closed due to the hot weather (no air conditioning)

Hmm – just read through that lot, think I will stop before I depress everyone

Take care – hope everyone has a better day than I am having!

Good morning all

@swimfeeders I always thought with angina attacks it was a tablet under the tongue or a spray in the mouth .Was the shower because you was over heating and it was a rapid way to stop heat exhaustion?

Its a wee bit cooler and I may go on the Bus to see the Play Ive a ticket for , I won’t decide till near the time ,

I know from reading post that not everyone likes this hot weather , it’s a trifle trying to say the least.

Have a relaxing day

I have already told you that the world didn’t end on Wednesday. That must be of some comfort.

Hi Eliza.

You are quite correct, normally treated by a tablet or spray and easy for the hospital or Paramedic to get a trace of your heart and see if had resulted in an Angina attack.

I have unstable angina, which means I can have a heart attack out of the blue,

I take 3 Angina tablets in the morning and another 3 at lunch time.’

You cannot take more, there has to be a break every day which in my case is evening and or else the efficiency of the medication gets less over time.

My angina attacks are getting worse, very severe now and I vomit rapidly, often with blood.

This is because I have thin blood due taking blood thinners.

I was cleaned because I was covered in dark red vomit as was my tunic and trousers.

There are no more surgical interventions that can be done, so taking 14 different medicines a day, a total at the moment of 27 pills a day is what keeps me alive.

I also have Oramorph, which is oral morphine, to be taken as and when needed., this is in addition to the 4 slow release morphinr capsules I take daily.

I hope this helps.

Morning all … just :slightly_smiling_face:

Tis hot.
But unusually the birds are all happily singing away. You’d think they’d be suffering in the heat too … but no … they sound happy and it’s lovely just to sit and listen to them.
Better check they have enough water for a decent bath and a drink.

Ah, Swimmy! I realize how difficult your recent move was to this facility, but as I read your daily struggles, I am so happy to hear there are young, capable nurses to tend to you immediately if need be.
It seems to be the place you are getting the care and comforting you deserve.
What a brave and mighty person you are! Hugs.
