Good Morning Thursday, 24th September 2026

Good morning all on a sunny, warm spring day.

This morning was my seniors branch meeting but I have already written up the minutes and been to Bunnings again - you’ll have guessed that it is early arvo for me now.

I was so pleased with my screw containers that I bought another small one for my wafer and/or round headed screws which will also accommodate a few metal self tappers too.

While I was there I also bought a 10litre plastic Diesel Jerry Can, it is much cheaper than the ones at Supercheap Auto so I thought I had better test it out before I buy another. (My 20 litre can is getting too heavy for me).

Well, that’s all the excitement of my day so far :man_shrugging: Just the bins to go out for the morning and some sanding/varnishing for my project.

Have a good one.

Take care…

A bleary good morning from me today. :face_with_spiral_eyes:

It’s 4.30am, I’ve been awake since 3.30, finally throwing in the towel, I’m up and having a cuppa before trying to get back off to sleep

A lazy day ahead, no plans but odd jobs at home, some sewing to do for a friend who will be joining me this afternoon

Enjoy your day

Good morning!
Bright, sunny, clear, dry

Well yesterday was a bit odd
I had various jobs & errands to do, but I felt a bit tired, so I had another cup of tea then thought I’ll just get under the duvet for an hour or so
That was about 10-30 … I woke up at 7-00! but felt a lot better

Today I’ve had my breakfast and soon I’ll go into town to do the aforementioned jobs & errands, which include -

Getting a bank ministatement
Paying money from my current account into a building society savings account
Seeing if a watch dealer can convert a nurse’s fob watch into a pendant watch
Buying a birthday card for my grandson - he’ll be 13 soon, an actual teenager!
Post calendars to the USA & Canada

Good morning to all that follow…

Yesterday was a bit of a hard day. As it’s my wife’s upcoming birthday in a few months time, I had to give my piggy-bank an appendectomy and pay out for a weeks stay in Las Vegas. I originally wanted to do a Christmas Market coach trip in Europe somewhere, having done a couple in the past, but as she pointed out, it is her cardinal birthday and we haven’t been back to Vegas for twenty years, attracted not so much by the gambling - which neither of us do - but there is a lot of outlet shopping and shows to see. Naturally, we agreed to have a small flutter with a set amount, but we will both stop at a certain point. To make matters worse, she is insisting on going to see some cheesy Elvis show whilst there.

So today, we are sorting out airport parking, a hotel near the terminal, flights and seats and some paperwork all of which involves even more open-wallet surgery. So I will be looking for some extra strong, triple shot coffee and a large chocolate muffin to aid recovery and nurse my bank balance back to health. Naturally, this all falls just before Christmas with yet more expense and will probably need to get my guitar out and start playing on the high street to try and earn some money busking to try and recover some funds.

Have a great day all…

Good morning all! :partly_sunny:

Largely a ‘things’ to do at home day - that’s cool!
I’m just about to part with £36.80 , worth every penny, my Environment Agency fishing licence has expired.

We have a rather large millpond almost on our doorstep

It’s going to look pretty damn good during The Autumn and Winter, looking forward to some early morning tight lines! Royal Mail should be delivering a rather interesting type of 35mm film today, something for end of the year type photography…I have plans

Back to earth with a bump…the rest or the day involves tugging on my rubber marigolds - a sight to behold, not! :open_mouth:

Have a good day people! :v:

Morning/afternoon all

So my second day after cataract surgery and already bored!
Lots of things to do around the house, but unfortunately very few things that doesn’t involve putting some pressure, or allowing dust to get in the eye.

Hoovering, dusting, carrying anything with some weight - even the washing basket, is not a good idea, so looking for alternative things to do for a while.
I’m a terrible patient, always have been, but it’s all worth it to have improved vision.

Apart from this nothing exciting to report, except cooking a chicken, and doing some reading and crochet - this should be safe enough!

Take care and have a pleasant day.

They gave me a plastic eye patch to protect mine (over gauze) for the first couple of days so I could carry on as normal. The only hard part was getting the door key in the lock :slightly_frowning_face:

After that couple of days I just had the drops to put in for 4 weeks but otherwise could do whatever I wanted.

I was told that they will do both eyes at once but of course you need a carer for a couple of days so I had mine done a month apart (actually about 6 weeks)

Same here Bruce, but only have to wear the eye shield overnight - taping it on is a bit tricky! :slightly_smiling_face:

I had to wait 8 months for my second op!
