Good Morning Thursday, 20th November 2025

Good morning all, Over 50s Chat seemed to be off line for a lot of today so I am very late.

Spent the day exploring the delights of Lake Cargelligo and surrounds. I am in two minds whether to stay another day. Two days might have exhausted my interest.

Apart from driving and looking I really haven’t done much of note today but it has been a lovely day and as I say I could continue on this way.

I did move my site this morning because the one I had selected before was lovely and shady during the day but come late arvo or evening it had no protection form the sun at all. During the day I can put my awning up but evening I want my camper to cool down!

Anyway have a good Thursday

Take care…

Hi

Good Morning Bruce and all who follow.

No snow yet, but forecast an 80% chance of it.

Life has not been great the last few weeks, so I am on a short fuse at the moment, most unlike me normally, but given my life in Enforcement, I do know which buttons to press.

Amazon got a blast, even managed an apology from their AI System and got a response from a human.

Full credit and a replacement due today.

Then the NHS, both Hospital and GP running around after being ignored for weeks.

Neither had complied with their legal obligations and very dismissive of complaints from a ordinary person, really quite condescending and arrogant.

I went into fullworks mode and lo and behold things started to happen.

Aided by a good bottle of red, I am hoping for things to improve today and tomorrow.

Enjoy your day folks and don’t let them grind you down.

Morning all…

Cold and crisp day here in the south coast of Hampshire, although the sun is out and is quite warm when there isn’t a breeze about.

Just come back from my daily walk to see the lonely swan with my bag of feed, but was nowhere to be seen today. Maybe tomorrow.

Mrs G off to the gym again and I need to put down some weedkiller before it rains again on my drive. Not ideal, but need to take advantage of the break in the weather. Still waiting on my package of parts for my plumbing job I have, so if it turns up, time to break out the toolbox.

Before all that, it’s coffee and porridge, laced with a generous dollop of strawberry jam.

Have a great day all…

Good Morning Everyone, the snow has finally arrived in South Yorkshire…

Okay, so it’s not Alaska, but it certainly feels like it with the icy cold wind whipping in from the North Sea.
No walk today, I’m still taking things easy, and am turning into a bit of a wuss…
It’s my daughters 52nd birthday next week and I’ve got just the present…She seemed so surprised when I whipped out my manual foot pump to put some air into her tyre the other week when it seemed low. She thinks everything has to be charged up these days before it works… :009: She usually pays for her air at Tesco’s…
:face_with_hand_over_mouth:
Safe journey Bruce, it seems odd that we are freezing our bits off and you are avoiding the sun…
Sort em’ out Swimmy, it seems a long time ago when the doctor would come out and visit you if you couldn’t get to the surgery…Countries gone to the dogs…
:open_mouth:
Morning Tracy…Hope you’re keeping well…
:hugs:
Can’t beat some strawberry jam on yer Porridge, toast or teacake in the mornings Graham…

Hi

An update on Amazon.

I have a marine aquarium, which needs a wavemaker, no waves the corals die.

First wavemaker stopped working, got a replacement from Amazon on 25th October, this new one has now started a very loud banging noise.

I now have a different one arriving tomorrow and Amazon are arranging the pick up of the defective one at the same time.

I know some do not like them, but I find their Customer Service absolutely spot on.

I am registered with them as disabled and they are very helpful as regards delivery and customer service.

A pleasure to deal with.

Good afternoon all!

A nippy winters day for sure
The cold feels creeping, even indoors indoors. Probably because I’m a southern softie
I did my turn in the gym before a visit to Iceland (how appropriate )for a spot of grocery shopping.

A weird thing happened with Amazon this afternoon. I’d placed an order for something and received an entirely different order which was about three times more expensive than the original order.

It’s actually quite useful, I’ll set it up on my small bedside table, handy for these dark winter nights/mornings.
I know misdeliverys do occur. I contacted Amazon and was told to keep the item, there’s no need to return it.

Enjoy the rest of your day people!
Wrap up well and chuck another log on the fire :wood::fire:

A late good morning from Florida!

I was at the university this morning and am now finished with a scavenger list of things to accomplish before driving back across Florida tomorrow to the Atlantic. It should be an adventure with three large dogs and the twenty-somethings along for the ride. Thank goodness for hand vacuums, highway rest areas, and minivans! We’ve decided to listen to an unabridged audiobook of the adventures of Marco Polo to while away the hours.

I am envious of the beautiful snowfall and faraway lakes. The grass …or water…or snow… is always greener…or bluer…or whiter…on the other side of the fence…or planet…

Well done on the returns and bonus treats, Chilli and Swimfeeders! All that Amazon money goes straight into plastic surgery for Bezos; wife, so never feel guilty about advantageous returns !

I sure hope the swan is ok, Graham. Keep us posted :swan:!

Alright, I am off to clean this beast of a vehicle.

Stay warm (or cool) and have a nice remainder of the day
