Good morning to everyone on the forum, signs that we are nearing the end of winter with temperatures getting up into the low 20s. Such a nice change after the really cold weather we have been having.
Went shopping early this morning to get milk when I was browsing the meat section and discovered they had lamb hearts. I love hearts and brains though the latter are probably never to be seen again. Thank you British farmers
Sensitive souls might want to avert their eyes now…
Anyway I thought it would be nice to try cooking stuffed hearts in my air fryer so when I got home I tried to look up recipes. Turns out it is not recommended, air fryers make them too tough it appears. So now I have to get my oven working which I haven’t used for years - ho hum!
A bit disappointing but that’s how things go. On the bright side, it’s bin day in the morning so I thought I might have a go at removing parts of my Azalea which has sadly died (I might have been a bit careless with my cheap Chinese Roundup ) so they can be collected in the morning. Tried to remove all the Asparagus Fern weed while I was at it - nasty prickly plant. Anyway it is done and the bins are on the kerb.
We are currently sailing back home on the last day of our cruise and will be back home early tomorrow Yesterday we were in Cobh, Ireland, which has to be one of the most picturesque towns we’ve ever been in.
So today is going to be a relaxed day on board, probably take in a few shows and a lecture from a guest speaker, an astronomer who was on board to talk through the eclipse and lots of other space stuff. Later, we’ll be packing ready for disembarking, but not before my other half spends the last of her money at the on board shops.
Good morning!
Dull & drizzly, but mild with no wind
General pottering again this morning, and a walk round the park
Sort my fruit, vegetables, and salads and work out a meal plan to use it up before it all goes off - I always buy too much at once
Clean the bathroom late afternoon
Bruce What the heck ! That looks like total carnage a traffic accident or worst even, how could anyone buy it let alone eat it .
The very thought of that in a air fryer makes me want to throw up. :
I just popped in to say Hi all .
Just back from cake and coffee with my sister after a walk along the seafront .
Hope you’re feeling a little better this morning Swimmy .
don’t hold back Ripple ! I saw the picture before I saw the warning and couldn’t agree with you more, hope you enjoy it anyway Bruce but I’m glad I’ve not been invited to dinner ….
A bit of rain this morning then sunshine but very windy, I did a couple of hours work, and have a friend coming for a cuppa this afternoon
I cooked the stuffed hearts this evening, I did it in the air fryer which is not recommended but it actually turned out OK.
Soaked them in brine for a while to draw out the blood, wrapped them in foil and cooked for 40 minutes at 200° then took the foil off and briefly browning them.
They tasted pretty good and no throwing up was necessary.
