Good morning Thursday 1st September

Good morning all on this first day of autumn and a pleasant autumn day forecast I believe, sunny and 24°C so no complaints. :sunglasses:

Another day at daughter’s bungalow for me today, the plumbers are starting to fit out the ensuites and the glaziers are fitting some new windows so quite a big day… if they all turn up that is.

Enjoy your day folks .

Spring has sprung.

Actually there was a lot of discussion on the radio this morning as to why only Australia and New Zealand have seasons starting on the first day of a month. Apparently the rest of the world uses science and astronomical observations to set the seasons. Are Australia and the Kiwis the only ones with any common sense?

Went to my seniors’ meeting this morning where we also discussed the electricity crisis in the UK. You’ll be overwhelmed to know that some are praying for you. We also discussed important issues such as our Birthday Lunch, a pie and peas night and the annual picnic.

Afterwards I went to Woollies and bought a couple of packets of carrot cake mix as well as a 500gm tin of Nescafe Blend 43 which was on special for $16 - I am going to have to curtail my enthusiasm for such specials as I now have over 1.5kg of tinned instant coffee.

Much warmer than forecast at 20° though a cold front is expected to arrive soon to knock a few degrees off maximum temperatures for the rest of the week.

Nothing else exciting to tell you, have a good day y’all.

Good Morning/Afternoon everyone.

Had a lovely walk this morning - definitley Autumn has arrived - came back with lots of Hips, Haws, and Elderberries. Needed a hard hat in some places as the Conkers were falling like rain!

Waiting in for a delivery so might actually sort out the filing and bring the account books up to date.

Have fun

Probably! :smiley_cat: :smiley_cat:

Sounds good to me.

I went rummaging on Amazon for a DVD of the TV series ‘Bodyline’ - the only one available was a second hand one - priced £69 !!

Good morning it’s overcast and there is a distinct chill in the air .
Hope it warms up .

Good morning all, lovely and sunny here.

Off into Town this morning, then lunch time Toby’s Carvery.

Have a nice day all.

Morning all.

Susie, hope you enjoy the carvery.

@SilverTabby , found out on FB what is wrong with our Martin. He has hurt his knee (again, the post said). That is all that we know about it. So nothing for us to get worried about, phew!

Dropping madam off for her groom this morning then I will go off for some food shopping. Need a few essentials. Then depending on when I get finished will either wait for the call, or go and sit outside the parlour in the car. I only get 1.5 - 2 hours, with maybe 10-15 minutes driving time to where I want to go.

Good morning everybody!

It’s going to be a lovely day, and the plans I had to see my daughter have now changed at the last minute, so the day is mine. I have no plan B yet as it’s early, but I’m sure I’ll find things to do.

Walking into town would be a good start I think.

Have a lovely day everyone

Thanks for the update, Jazzi, I am so glad it is nothiong more serious!

Me too. Someone went on the FB ‘page’, asked about an update on his health. Someone else mentioned it was his knee, adding, he is such a private person that is all we will know.

@SilverTabby Is that the programme about the Ashes and the bowling the English team devised isn’t it saw it many years ago my Dad loved it as a Cricketing fan and of that era when the layers were still in memory he was born 1929. Have you tried You tube?

Good morning everyone :slightly_smiling_face: a dull start I hope it brightens up.

Not a lot planned for today, I am having a misbehaving heart day so limited in what I can do. I might do some online shopping for a few necessities.

Good morning all can feel a change in the weather Autumn is arriving need to plan the garden for next year and divide some plants. Will take some pictures first I think a proper effort will be made this year and taking into account the weather changes some changes to my plants as some obviously cannot cope with the droughts as well as others so need to consider the locations for ease of watering.

Work this afternoon have a good day all. .

There are a load available on ebay, althought weirdly they all seem to be held in Australia (and have large shipping fees, obviously).

Seems to be a bit of a fixation with our antipodean friends. Almost as though they’re holding a grudge. :joy::joy:

Good morning all! It was around 15C which is quite a nice temperature for a stroll. My and a neighbour are off to see Ozzie’s mum. I think she may go back home soon but she will need a care home visitor.

Morning all!

Had a fun and useful masterclass yesterday.

Then spent most of the day getting some sleep. That was nice.

Spent some time looking for audiobooks and tv shows from my online library since it’s the end of the month and the credits would have expired.

Plan for today is to watch the tv shows that I borrowed yesterday.

Have a joyful day everyone.

Having karchered the wheelie bins this morning, which was vile, have decided to make some chicken pies and pasties this afternoon. Barry inspired me!!
