Good Morning Thursday, 19th June 2025

Good morning on yet another cool but sunny winter’s day. actually we could do with a bit of rain at the the moment.

Washed my sheets etc this morning after realising I had forgotten to do it on the weekend, then I was out to Big W to buy some shoes.

While I was out received a surprise message from my ISP, I was very pleased. Currently I pay for 100/20Mbps so that is quite an increase. Oh, I love my fibre.

Still filling holes and patching up my doors, the locks work great, lots of sanding and painting to do but no rush.

Bin day tomorrow morning so the bins have to go out tonight. What a full life I lead :frowning_with_open_mouth: :icon_wink:

Have a great Thursday whatever you are doing.

Take care

Good morning all! :sun_with_face::sunflower:

It’s going to be a belter today weatherwise, not particularly looking forward to it! Many years ago if there was a heatwave I’d slap on the old Ambre Solaire and revel in the sunshine. Not so these days, quite the opposite, maybe it’s an over 50’s thing

The new/vintage camera arrived yesterday evening…

I’ve unwrapped it and checked it out this morning over coffee, very nice too!
Not much planned for today, I’ll be popping down the road to our quiet little local railway station at around ten with Chilli jnr to sort out his new Railcard. I think Railcards are a must, thirty quid a year and then one third off rail tickets, off peak of course.

Anyway… have a terrific day people :+1:

The hot days continue. There will be an attempt to move a garden chalet today. It is about 24 years old. so I wouldn’t be surprised if it just dropped to bits. Should be interesting. Luckily, our son from Germany will be coming here today. This means he’ll bring our other son (lives locally) with him. A bit of extra man power for the job.

Have a good day everyone.

Morning all

Another boiling hot day again down here in southern Hampshire.

Not sure what’s happening today - apart from my daily walk and coffee - have to do some last minute shopping online for our cruise in just over a week’s time. Have to try on my suit and new shirts for the formal dinner nights as Mrs G doesn’t think they’ll fit, as I’ve lost considerable weight since I last wore them. Besides all that, Mrs G is off to tend to my father-in-law again with more nurses and blood tests, so I’m left on my own again for the most part.

Anyway, have a great day all.

Morning all – another hot sunny day – temperatures forecast to reach 30c

The beast is definitely feeling the heat – she only left the house for an hour yesterday evening when it was a bit cooler. I have been leaving windows open all day (please don’t tell my neighbours!) to try to keep the room cool for her (she is only allowed in the kitchen/dining area) A couple of little gifts for me this morning, but she is still using the newspapers I put down – can’t understand why she won’t use her tray (yes it is regularly washed and fresh litter is put in every day)

Visit to the dentist yesterday went OK. Managed to find a free car parking space – did mean a bit of a walk but I need the exercise. No problems except he thinks one tooth may need treatment in the future.

Started chatting to another lady in the waiting room – when I was called into the surgery she thanked me, said I was the first person to have a conversation with her in 2 days! That made me feel quite sad.

Usual Thursday get together with the girls later this morning, then a grocery shop and after that I think it will be too hot to do anything!

Take care – have a lovely day everyone

Those formal dinner nights on a cruise had me in fits of laughter. Apart from hating and not joining in., just watching the men in their bow ties and dinner suits looks just like a parade of penguins making for the sea. You get the fat ones wadding along and the younger passing them quickly to get the best table.
Best cruise entertainment one could wish for

As for the women in their posh dresses they only ever worn once before. I have to reserve my comments so as not to offend

Good Morning from Foxy’s World… :sunny:
Did my walk/jog early to avoid the heat and the blazing sun. It went well with no problems to report. Haven’t seen my stalker since I left him behind on Monday, he’s probably got the message.
We are almost half way through the year and after Saturday the nights will start to get longer.
Time seems to go by so fast these days and the candle of life has almost burnt down to the sloppy bit of melted fat and last remains of the wick in the bottom of the saucer…It just needs a draught to snuff it out for good…
Anyway, enough of the good news…
Our bin day today too @Bruce and Mrs Fox is busy collecting all the rubbish bags from the kitchen and garage. It’s our black bins today (general waste)

That looks like a corker of a camera @Chilliboot I’ve quite a bit of ‘Canon’ stuff and it’s very good quality, especially my digital camera, although I don’t think I could go back to film again, but if you are interested in photography I’m sure that you will produce some good prints.

They are certainly cracking on with the footings and base @mart good luck with the shed transportation, I hope it all moves in one piece…

I’m just the opposite @Graham my suit trousers are too tight around the waist since I retired and turned into a couch potato. I only wear it on the new years eve ball we always attend. Hopefully there might still be a good med cruise left in us yet…

It’s a tough time for cats in this hot weather @SheilaP when we had Maddie she slept most of the day and went out all night. She used to stagger in as I was just going for my early morning run. We passed on the doorstep…

I used to love to dress for dinner during a cruise @realspeed probably the highlight of the trip.

Thank god, I hate these dark mornings and early sunsets, it doesn’t get light until nearly 7am and is dark just after 5pm. Hate it

I must admit I avoided the formal dinner nights on the cruise even though suits on Australian cruises are not compulsory, a collared shirt was and I only own one (for funerals and weddings) and I certainly didn’t pack it for a cruise.
