Good morning everybody, today is a cool but sunny day I think the maximum temperature is only going to get into the very low 20s. Did you know it is Bamboo Day today?
Called into the PO this morning to pick up a package for me, turned out to be a much delayed F38 mount for my remaining camera.
Ran into some friends in the mall, something which is becoming a very rare occurrence these days, how I wish for the days when I used to complain that going to the mall took too long because everybody wanted to chat! .
On the way home called into the OP Shop looking for interesting books, no such luck, followed by a quick visit to the $2 Shop to buy some exotic wax melts.
The local Rotary Club was out and about with their caravan in the pedestrian area presumably to recruit new members. I had a sticky beak because I hoped they had a sausage sizzle going but alas, no.
Of course Thursday means bin day tomorrow so I have to remember to put the bins out this arvo.
Isn’t the UK royal mail fantastic with their parcel tracking system.

you can’t get better than that.
Great they actually understand the English word TRACKING
Scammers are getting sloppy. Just had a phone call from a so called bank saying money has been withdrawn from my account. A phone call from a mobile phone? I don’t think so
We are still dealing with my Father in law who is still in hospital and will probably be there for another few days with his fluid retention. As he has a large family, everyone has got together and worked out a visiting rota, as he can only have two visitors at a time. So we are down for tomorrow and today its catch up with everything else in life.
Apart from that, business as usual. Mrs G is off to the gym and I’m off for my daily walk. Sometime, somewhere, there will be coffee…
I’m feeling better than I did yesterday
So far I’ve washed up and tidied a bit
I’m going away for a few days tomorrow, so I’ve started packing; it’s not difficult, but at the speed I go it will take most of the day
Also I’ll have a walk to the chemist this afternoon to pick up my prescriptions
I think Australia Post are brilliant, their phone app tells you exactly where the package is at any given time and when to expect it. Most businesses use it to track their wares.
I have had two problem packages, one just recently which seemed to get stuck in Sydney. You can complain/contact them in the app about a given package which I did, they found it and it arrived a day later
Darwin is a bit of a black hole, they track the package to Adelaide, then it disappears off the face of the earth for a few days before it suddenly pops up in Darwin being delivered.
At least one courier service has GPS on their trucks so you are told when it will be delivered and can track the truck in real time and have been at the door awaiting the package.
Good fine morning from under the massive shade of a legacy oak!
I once again playing chauffeur (T, Th) for my daughter while she works with intellectually disabled young adults as part of her college internship. She is just lovely with them and it’s hard to believe that just a few years ago, she was the one using recreational therapeutic services. Every day I am reminded of the miracle of her recovery.
I have my sweet lab mix Magnolia, whose only wish in life is to be with me, along for the day. Her devotion makes me a little sad because my days seem so ordinary. I am otherwise spending the day solving problems (construction projects at the condo building, insurance issues, etc.) that at the end of my life I will sorely regret.
The weather is finally starting to break so I don’t end the morning run looking like the pool left behind by the Wicked Witch of the West , and the tree frogs are starting to gather on the windows in the evening.
I have just started to pick through Marco Polo’s Il Milone in Italian with an English translation alongside. I’ve wanted to read it forever. The cynical (or realistic?) side of my brain says I’ll give up on the Italian within a hundred pages .
Alrighty off to practical matters. I hope the day is a smooth one!
