Good morning merry forummers on this rather dull Thursday.
Had to go to my PO Box early to pick an Amazon package of suction cups to try to repair the not sticking suckers on my windscreen reflective blind - you know one of those silver screen things that enables you to touch the steering wheel in summer without burning yourself.
Back at home I pushed the full green bin round to the kerb for collection in the morning, not sure yet if I will bother with the red bin because it is empty at the moment and the one little bag of rubbish it will hold by this evening hardly seems worth bothering about.
Once that was done I got on with the main event - unpacking my new 3D printer and setting it up, I job I have just completed though I haven’t tried it yet.
The old printer looks a bit forlorn abandoned on the floor.
I now have a five litre container of white vinegar at my disposal, not for my chips I hasten to add…or is it?
But seriously, much cheaper to buy it that way. I use it as a cleaning agent together with bicarbonate of soda.
Bruce, the new printer, will you be using the old one simultaneously? I was just thinking if you were building something composite, with components. Hope that makes sense?
wow that’s some printer you have there Bruce, I hope you’re pleased with it, I decided not to replace mine when it finally packed up, it was only really used for the occasional letter which I now print out at the Library
A busy day for me, washing summer clothes before putting away ironing winter clothes, I have to go out for my paper, post a birthday card then make a chicken stew
Nothing much planned for this morning
I have an appointment at the building society this afternoon to shuffle my money around and probably open a new account
I doubt it, even though it is possible, there are people mass produce little items but I can’t see me doing that.
The old one needs a new ribbon for the print head and I was going to give it to my daughter to mess about with.
As a practice piece I printed out a holder for a small heater for my camper, the previous one I broke because I left the heater on it as I bounced over some dirt roads and it snapped off the pins (which are a weak point anyway). It was done in PETG which my old printer was a bit hit and miss with but came out the best I have printed.
Another grey day here in the south, could be rain later.
Decided to have a major clear out and will be spending the day with my shredder. It is surprising how much paperwork accumulates over the years and I have a mountain of it going back decades and now decided it time to sort through it and get rid of anything that’s just gathering dust. When done, it’s time to visit the local recycle centre and get rid of a load more junk. But I won’t be doing anything before my coffee.
Busy morning, but winding down now. Just finished cutting the grass out front, but it’s so windy today, with leaves and grass swirling around, making the job a lot harder than it should be.
Despite the extremely gusty conditions, the temperature is a very comfortable 19 degrees with endless sunshine - how i wish our winter could be like this.
Coffee now and something to eat i think - it’s given me quite an appetite.
Hope your day continues to be pleasant, take care.
todayjust had a delivery fromAmazon stgill waiting for the post office deliveries/ Also picked up large twigs off the lawn and cleared a sight line to the waterbutt outlet.
