Woke to the sound of rain on the roof but as I write this there are patches of blue sky as the depression that caused all that rain moves off the coast.
Just returned from my seniors’ meeting and written up the minutes (not an arduous task) so am now settling down to more mundane activities.
After yesterday’s continuous rainfall the ground is saturated once again but I am hoping that there is still time to chop up those branches in my front garden and get them in the bin for the morning. Might not get them all done but hope to make good progress as the breeze dries things out.

It’s pouring with rain here in southern Hampshire and I’m sure the swans and cygnets I feed are entirely grateful as their waterway is severely depleted. Glad I did my garden the other day.
We were supposed to be going to a local fair on Saturday, but as it’s held in a large field, we know from past experience that the whole thing turns to a muddy bog whenever its wet, so we are on the fence about going. I am doing a period-set photo shoot on Sunday and need to be ready with some water protection as it also looks like it may rain on the day and my gear isn’t waterproof, only weather sealed, but could sustain water damage if exposed to rain.
Other than that, Mrs G is off to the gym and I need my coffee. If the rain eases off, I may go for my daily walk a bit later. For the rest of the day, I have a ton of photos to go through and may even dig out my old camcorder and tapes and see what I can do with that.
Morning all – weather can’t make up its mind today – started with sunshine, then rain, then sunshine, now we are back to rain with very strong wind!
Today met up with the usual group for coffee, cake and gossip. I was feeling very sorry for myself as my knees were hurting but after hearing some of their stories I consider myself to be lucky. One of the ladies has developed heart problems and yet another is suffering pain due to sciatica
However the worse news was that one lady has found out her 14 year old grand-daughter has been groomed and sexually assaulted – police are investigating and one of the men involved has tried intimidating her. I am not a violent person but in this instance I wish I knew some big burly men who could “have a word”
Wanted to make an early start on some jobs that have been put on hold. So after a swift walk/jog around my canal towpath route and a quick peruse of the forum while eating breakfast…(Mostly reading while eating) it was off to B&Q for some bit’s and pieces.
Got stuck in after lunch while a thunderstorm raged outside. Happy with today’s outcome and so it’s over to Mrs Fox now for cleaning up anything I missed and hope the wardrobe rails manage to support Mrs Fox’s extensive collection of outdoor clothing…
