Good Morning Thursday, 10th October 2024

Good morning to you all on this warm, sunny bin day.

I have just returned from my senior’s meeting and will shortly write out the minutes. The power went off as the meeting started so there was a lot of shouting involved :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Yesterday I finished deconstructing those old vapes, I had hoped to recover the charger and battery protection but unfortunately it was built in to the circuit board that also looks at the pressure cell and controls the heater. These things are optimised to the hilt.

I managed to open all but one of them successful - actually not with those pliers but using a spudger (sp?) which is a metal tool for forcing open plastic joints. As you can see some even have display panels but none of them were easily refillable.

The smell was sweet and sickly from the remains of the vape liquid, I should have worn latex gloves because nicotine can be absorbed through the hands apparently but I never gave it a thought.

I eventually ended up with half a dozen rechargeable lithium batteries of about 2 or 3 wh, all were about 3.9 volts so the batteries are in good shape.

Will eventually solder on new leads, a battery management board and use them for something - my flashing LED Santa hat is first on the list.

Anyway that is my excitement over for the day (yeah, I know, very sad :frowning: ). I hope you all enjoy your day.

Take care…

Good morning - Those batteries are bound to come in handy at some time Bruce.

Hoping Surfermom is OK.

I’ve been laid low with an infection for a day or two but much better now. Got the Nurse calling here later to change a bit of plumbing.

A grey start to the day but it’s supposed to brighten up later, hopefully enough to wash and dry the bedsheets without having to resort to the tumble-dryer.

Hoping everyone has the best day possible.

Good morning!
Bright & sunny & fairly warm

I haven’t been Posting on here for a while - you might remember that I had picked up a bug & urine infection, which was horrible, so all I was doing was sitting around watching daytime TV or dozing under the duvet, and making frequent visits to the loo for painful peeing

Well, I’ve started to feel better at last - not fully recovered, but better
I had been living off the food I had in stock, my freezer and cans of soup, but a couple of days ago I bought some almost proper food, even if it was ready meals, prepared sandwiches, and yogurt

I also managed to clean the bathroom; I took it at a slow pace, spending all day with frequent rests, and I was absolutely worn out afterwards, but I’m glad I did it
Yesterday I cleaned & tidied the kitchen, again spending all day on it, but i managed it

Today I’ll do some shopping and might get myself well wrapped and go for a short stroll around the local park this afternoon

All this has been very annoying & frustrating as we have been having nice weather for the past few weeks, but these things happen
I expect I’ll be feeling a lot better just in time for bad weather in late autumn/early winter

Oh well, at least I’m improving – hope you’re all better than me!

Morning all – damp start to the day but brighter weather promised for later.

Thoughts are with the people of Florida and hoping Surfermom is safe

Hope Mart and zuludog get well soon

The BBC weather map has a bit of a glitch – it is showing hurricane force winds for UK (with wind speeds of 5909 – I think that is more end of the world than a hurricane!). There are announcements on radio and TV telling people not to panic!!

Beast again demanded cuddles and refused to leave the house. Her regular servants are due back at the weekend which is just as well as her food store is running low! I think by the time they get back there will be one small tin of food left

Some good news, used the washing machine again and it didn’t leak – perhaps the Angel of Engineers fixed it for me overnight!

Meeting with the usual bunch for coffee, cake and gossip later this morning.

Take care – have a great day

Sorry to hear Mart and Zulu are feeling under the weather and hope you both feel better soon…
:hugs: :hugs:
Man hugs for you both…
Looks like those batteries will come in useful Bruce, as long as you can figure out how to charge them safely.
Our BBC weather read winds of 440 mph at hurricane level Sheila, I couldn’t understand why they had not posted a weather warning… :017:
A very cold Northerly wind this morning during my walk, but I wouldn’t describe it as ‘Hurricane Force’ it just made my hands and legs a bit cold…
Somebody told me about a good place to go for ears…If you have trouble hearing, or a build up of wax. So I might go and check it out later, it’s in the town centre so a bus ride will be preferable, and a sandwich at Greggs…Pardon?
