Good Morning Sunday, 7th September 2025

Good morning sun worshippers and welcome to Fathers’ Day.

I scratched my Father’s day scratchie this morning but sadly am no richer than I was before.

Went out early with my Whipper Snipper to finish off the path outside and all the edges in my front garden. First of the year, don’t do it very often - I prefer Chinese Roundup but this keeps me busy.

Last night I was invited to a friend’s place for dinner, they forced mountainous plates of food on me included an enormous bowl of ice cream. It was a lovely evening but today I have decided is a no food day.

Funny thing is that just a few minutes ago I received a phone call asking if I wanted to go for a meal at the club or the Thai place this evening. In the end we settled on Wednesday evening at the Thai place.

I am not used to all this social activity!

It is warm today, 24° already and the minimum is only going down to 14°, definitely my kind of weather, I can finally abandon the hot water bottle. When I have posted this I will be out in the garden with my book and maybe a bit of Spotify enjoying the sunshine. I just hope winter is well behind me.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend.

Take care…

Hi

Good Morning Bruce and all who follow.

It is still dark here, with a windy and showery day forecast.

No meals out for me today, just a very early one off visit from Shiv.

It is off to his Temple in Birmingham today for a very big Festival for his variety of Hinduism.

It is scary day here, two of the plastic fixings on my huge and very expensive aquarium canister filter for my big freshwater tank have seized solid.

It is essential that it is opened up and cleaned out, otherwise my fish will die.

If the fittings snap I don’t fancy cleaning up a 700 litre water spill in the Lounge.

It is most definitely not a boring day ahead.

Take care all, have a good day and a dry day.

Morning all this Sunday

Its chores day today, which means nothing exciting to mention. We may go down to the seaside in the evening to catch the lunar eclipse…but not a great deal more than that.

Have a great day all…

Seems like I “twisted?” my back somehow yesterday evening and no very painful if I am not careful how I move.
Anyone take a photo of the moon last night? absolutely perfect conditions with no misty halo around it

Morning – heavy rain, thunder and lightning this morning !

Finished the casserole for the freezer yesterday, smelt so good it was a toss-up whether to have it for dinner last night or the pizza I had been promising myself all week (the pizza won!)

Sister in law is due to arrive for a visit this morning, although not sure if she will want to venture out in this awful weather

Nothing much else planned for the day

Take care – hope everyone has a good day

Sorry to hear about the inclement weather some of you are having down South, It’s gorgeous here, and a bit warmer than of late :sunglasses:
So I took advantage and went for a nice stroll down the lane, I must admit to getting up on my toes and doing a bit of jogging (alright then…a lot of jogging) I’ll probably pay for it later.
It doesn’t matter though because Sunday’s are always on the lazy side. After visiting the forum I’ll gorge on the lunch Mrs Fox has cooked…Chicken in white wine sauce today, but it’s the glass or two of red wine that’ll have stumbling into the lounge for a power nap…
Mrs Fox has fitted a collar on Rosie, much to my disgust, it’s got a bell and a little name plate with her name on and Mrs Fox’s telephone number…
I don’t believe outdoor cats should be impeded by a collar…But I’ve been overruled by Mrs fox and daughter…
Anyway, Mrs Fox called me on the phone while I was out on my walk to say that Rosie had almost knocked a valuable glass object off the shelf, and as a result is in the dog house and been banned from the lounge She also said that now Rosie has got a collar, I can let her out when I got home.
Rosie was all over me like a rash when I got home and I left the back door open so she could go out and explore the grounds…But she just sat on the step and came in to watch me in the shower. It appears that Mrs Fox’s worry that she would run off and never seen again were unfounded… :009:

I never put collars on my cats. They have microchips, so if ever lost can be returned home. If a cat squeezes through a gap and the collar gets caught… doesn’t bear thinking about!
