It rained on Saturday! No neighbor noise. Yay! It was a beautifully quiet day. At night I could hear some music from their house in the distance. Not enough to do anything about.
I was so glad that I got my grocery delivery on Friday as it was raining.
I had a restful day starting with morning pages and later a nap.
Today I’m hoping for more rain but it seems to be stopping. Maybe I’ll need to do a rain dance later. btw, I don’t normally like rain. I only like it because it stops my neighbor.
Swollen ankle has gone down enough to go out for my 3 mile canal walk, not too shabby a time either, but no jogging…
I was dismayed to see that some scrotes had destroyed all the bird feeders situated in the bushes along the towpath, there is a bad element in the village, what with burglary, vandalism, and car theft, that needs sorting.
Weather was nice and fine although a bit cool at 4 degrees C.
Out come the steps today to take down the Christmas lights…
Good morning. Car boot this morning at a very early time. Was dark went we left home. Light by the time we arrived. This car boot the only one left running this time of year, it was freezing, icy ground, slippy too, but I did buy one item, a large sit on cuddly pig, suitable for a toddler & in good condition, made by the Melissa & Doug co, cost £2, worth around £18. Not seen one before. I collect their large horses.
Well done, Foxy - hang in there ! It’s my cousin’s birthday today, her 80th. She had a poor start in life - she had polio and that was serious to terminal in those days and her facial figures remained slightly disfigured. A clever girl - she was Dux in her school.
I rarely go to the early one, but this one is the only one on til March, Daughter usually goes alone, but I needed to get up & get some fresh air, I hate getting up that early usually,
getting the pig was nice. We were only at the car boot for about half an hour, few sellers there, then came home.
The people who currently own a pet shop in town run a car boot. They are selling the shop at auction soon, but continuing with the car boots so I was asking about times etc. they said they start at 6, 6.30. I said I’m just turning over in bed then! They did tell me sellers could turn up when they want but it finishes around 1.30. Probs with me would be waiting for mine and Holly’s ablutions, then the drive there, which is south of the town. Not sure it’s ideal for me. I might wait until the better weather then maybe take Holly and browse as a buyer, see the set up.
I used to sell at one near me in London, going with a neighbour or a friend, and we would start loading the car about 8, leave an hour or so later, stop off at a McD on the way, for a sausage muffin and coffee (to supplement our lunch), and get in line. Cars would start going down to places about 10,30. Ideal time for me. Stopped when I got Holly, and I never made much of a profit anyway.
I would like to get involved now, as I brought such a lot of stuff up from London in the move, and bought since, that I think car boots may be the way to go. And Holly can be with me.
Car boots are fun to do, Jazzi. We go in Spring /Summer to an afternoon one usually, it starts at 11 a.m. when they let sellers in & finishes at around 3 pm. A much better time to do them. There are a lot of boot sales around this area once they start again, but most are on grass & not run after October til March.
