Good morning all on this splendid day of rest on this long weekend.
Daylight saving kicked in last night so I got up this morning while it was still dark. I might have mentioned before that I hate daylight saving
Spent some of the morning in the garden clearing up branches that I cut yesterday. Also planted some hot Thai Chilli seeds as my dried chilli powder from the last crop is getting a bit old. The last plants survived the winter for several years before they eventually succumbed. I am hoping for a repeat performance with these.
It is quite warm today (26°) but is quite windy at times, good day for getting the washing dry but alas, I have none.
Tomorrow evening I am off to Sydney for the night - it’s a public holiday, so am deciding what to take, probably the most exciting thing for me to do today.
Morning all – damp start to the day with rain forecast for later
Beast left a gift this morning, more cuddles demanded and refused to leave the house. I love the little monster but I will be glad when her regular servants return next weekend. I have worked it out – they have been away for a total of 17 weeks this year – and they are off for another week in November!
Have a confession to make! During my supermarket shop yesterday found my favourite chocolates were on special offer – I bought 2 boxes!!!
My local GP surgery has temporarily closed due to the heating breaking down – I have an appointment on Tuesday with a physiotherapist and will have to go to a different practice so today’s plan is to try and find my way there as I have no idea where it is!
Good Morning Bruce and Sheila and all who follow…
The high pressure that was sitting over South Yorkshire making it very cold, but dry and clear, seems to have drifted away this morning. The outside thermometer said 5 degrees C as I set of for my 5 mile walk/jog but it felt considerably warmer, and by the time I got home it had gone up to 11 degrees C. It seemed like a very fast time, even perhaps a record? But when I studied this years exercise log it fell far short of my best time…
And just for the record and including cycling, I’ve done 859.54 miles so far this year…
@SheilaP I would have thought it would have been more healthy not to have the heating on in the surgery, less chance of spreading nasties. Most people walk to the surgery in our village so they are well wrapped up. It’s only if you have to visit the main surgery 4 miles away do they use a car, except for the disabled. I suspect they have closed the surgery more for the Doctors and receptionists benefit…Wuss’s…
Mrs Fox has got a busy day lined up for me taking boxes up into the loft for storage and fetching some down to sort out what’s in them…
Thank the Lord I built a lift for heavy things (lifts one ton) when it was too cold to work outside before I had a garage, and I took my Allegro engine up there in pieces and assembled it in the warm. I built the lift when I worked in the engineering factory, to winch the finished engine down back in the eighties and it still works…
I usually have a glass of red wine with my dinner, we’ll see how that works out…
