Good Morning Sunday, 6th April 2025

Good morning everybody, it was a lovely morning but this arvo it has become a bit overcast, not cold though.

Went for my walk this morning as usual except that I left just after 6am - in daylight now that we are back on AEST - such joy. In fact so joyful was I that I remembered there is a little laneway on my walk so I took a pic.

OK, not very picturesque but it was the best I could do :slightly_frowning_face:

Afterwards went shopping again for milk, annoyingly they only had 2 litre containers instead of 3 litre, some fruit and one of these neat little boxes of carrot - snack food instead of biscuits, cake or chocolate.

The rest of the morning has been spent tidying up the garden behind the garage (out of sight, out of mind), my daughter is arriving later and she is constantly on the look out for signs I am not coping by myself and I get nagged to move to Canberra. (too bloody cold in winter)

Apart from that all is well with the world. Enjoy the remains of the weekend

Take care…

Good morning all, bright and sunny here, although rain is forecast this afternoon. Hopefully, it should only be for today and not for the rest of the week, if they’ve got it right!
We had a delicious take away pizza yesterday evening, cooked in a real firewood oven. There are so many toppings to choose from nowadays but I just chose a traditional Margherita.

Pretty picture @Bruce, enjoy your healthy snack.
Have a good Sunday everyone.

Good morning - Another dry and sunny day. We’ll be driving to a neighbouring town for my Covid booster jab this morning. Although booked in at the same place but not until next week, we’re hoping Mrs mart can get her jab today. Worth asking.

I expect we’ll get the usual Sunday family visit this afternoon. I’ll be collaring the boys to help slot some fence panels into place. The panels are only 4 foot ones, so not that unwieldy. This space looks untidy at present but a new prefabricated garden building will be erected soon in this space…

While I’m at it a couple more photos taken from where I sit sunning myself…

…and the recently un-mothballed e-bike…

Good morning all! :sun_with_face::sun_with_face:

A lovely sunny morning here again. A mellow laid back Sunday for us God willing.
I’ve let some bananas blacken as much as I dare to make some banana bread this morning…

There was a bowl of Christmas nuts languishing in the front room, although past their best still edible so I took the pestle and mortar to them to chuck into the mix just to add a little interest and texture :yum:
Not forgetting the cinnamon and essential vanilla extract.

Roast duck for dinner :plate_with_cutlery: :yum::yum:

Enjoy your Sunday people! :+1:

I went to a Candlelit Concert last night ,(a Mothers Day present ) the venue was The Gallery of Justice Museum, in the Court room ,The quartet played an hour of Queen music ,we were asked to join in on We will Rock You, We clapped hands and stamped feet to the rhythm, it sounded tremendous .
After we went to an Indian Restaurant, and filled ourselves to busting .

That is one impressive amount of electric candles to set up Eliza. I’m glad I wasn’t responsible for checking the batteries! :open_mouth:

I did wonder whose job it was to turn them off at the end of the night, there was some high up in the gallery where we sat .

Morning all – another lovely sunny day

Late start for me – didn’t get up until almost 9.00 am which is unheard of for me (not because I was sleeping unfortunately – just didn’t feel like getting out of bed!)

Squirrels did it again – this morning both bird feeders are on the ground and empty – have put them back up so birds can have their breakfast but later I may go out and try to secure them with duct tape – not attractive but hopefully the little ***** won’t be able to dislodge them. Any suggestions from other forum members would be welcome.

My exciting plans for the day are ironing, take the patio furniture out of storage, clean and set it up in the garden.

Take care – have a lovely day

Good afternoon folks, sorry I’m a bit late but I’ve been sifting through some dash cam footage of yesterdays outing to Sheffield for you…It’s changed a bit since I used to visit Sheffield in my courier days of 2001 - 2009 I used to make three trips per day, Tuesdays and Thursdays, work for the Department of Work and Pensions…A good regular earner…

Speeding along the M1 to the Catcliffe turnoff. They’ve build a motorway service station here now. It was sandwiches in my day…

If you look closely on the left there’s a big iron giant about eight feet tall hiding in the woods on the Parkway. You can’t see him in the summer when all the leaves are on the trees.

None of these high rise apartments were here back then…

My, how it’s changed. Fortunately the roads are still where I left them.

04 Changed a Bit

After delivering my daughter to the hospital for her MRI we had to visit Ikea…By popular demand. I was tired and wanted to go home but was voted out by Mrs Fox and Daughter and hubby… It’s a bitch to get to from the hospital, but my memory served me well…Destination in sight!

The lonely little red motor in the Ikea car park is mine…

Have you seen the size of this place? This is one of many avenues like this. How do they ever find owt’?

Lazy day today…

Evening, Daughter & I sold at a car boot near Taunton. Didn’t do badly either. Never sold at that one before, it was heaving with sellers & buyers. Warm & sunny all day.

I buy bananas green, I eat them when they are yellow, I make banana bread if they start to get brown spots, if they get a lot of brown spots they go in the compost - too much sugar.

Actually I remember my father would put a banana aside to go black for him to eat but he was also someone who made himself fried egg sandwiches for a journey to eat cold at lunchtime. It must be a pommie thing :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:
