Hope you get better soon OGF.
Its pouring of rain and gale force wind here.
Had quite a few Fireworks go off last night.
Sorry about your ankle…
I hope it gets better soon.
Yes Susie, I heard them last night. Some were going while we were on a walk, and lots more later.
What are they celebrating? Or is that a normal thing?
No idea! Can’t remember seeing any notification, but could be wrong.
Edited. Just flicked quickly through our local rag, online, and could see nothing advertised.
@butterscotch it appears fireworks are now seen on or around Halloween, and probably every night until Nov 5th…Guy Fawkes night…
It’s the only time of the year that I’m glad Maddie the cat is no longer with us. She hated the fireworks…
Thanks OldGreyFox. My neighbors do fireworks at random times, but normally Halloween isn’t celebrated like that here.
4th of July and New Year’s eve are the two big nights of fireworks around here.
Hope you feel better soon.
Yes I think it was Halloween.
I thought Halloween is tonight, the 31st? Or is it like Christmas and November 5th, gets elongated over several weeks/months.
We have had fireworks around here for the the last three nights @Jazzi and they will probably continue for the next week or two…Any excuse…
We’ve had them for the last week and it’s getting on our nerves. I thought it was something to do with Diwali as well as Bonfire Night.
Didn’t sleep well last night because of the wind and rain. Fortunately the rain stopped by the time I went out for a newspaper but the wind hasn’t let up at all.
Anyone get damage from the high winds today.
It is said a mini tornado whistled through Northamptoshire today.
Some areas lost their electricity, and there have been loads of trees blown down, big mature trees too. Just a mile along the road from me i heard of 4 trees down.
My lights kept flickering this morning, which was a bit worrying, and i had to tie one of my small polythene grow houses to the fence, but alright otherwise, thank goodness.
Thanks for showing that, Baz.
You are welcome!
