Good morning everyone, another bright day ahead according to the forecast, just hope they’re right for a change…
My mum’s 92nd birthday today so we are taking her over to my sister’s for a family lunch party for her, which is always a nice occasion. With a little bit of luck the sun will shine and we can sit in the garden.
Waiting in for an Amazon delivery - indulging two of my favourite hobbies - new set of Stella steamer pans for the kitchen, and a pile of decoupage images for the Craft Room! Couldn’t be more different - could they?
Good morning and happy birthday Barry’s mum. Hope she enjoys her day with the family.
Meeting an ex colleague today at midday, with Holly. We last worked together around the mid 80s but are now FB friends. Guess we have a lot of reminiscing to do. As we are meeting by the Broads I will try to find a bag of bird seed left over from my failed attempt to have a feeder on my back window. Never saw a single bird! Too many gulls I think.
Good morning everyone and Happy Birthday to Barry’s mum
Its looking a bit overcast in my part of Yorkshire but its not cold so I’m hoping the sun gets out later.
Pals coming round later then we are all going to a pub for lunch…its a new pub to us all so hoping its ok… The Fauconberg…sounds German I will have to ask about the name when I get there
Good morning everybody! I was up and dressed and had the rubbish out for the bin men super early this morning, so feeling quite energised. Now I just want to organise everything, but I’ll have breakfast first I think. Have a lovely Sunday everyone
Good morning everyone, sunny start to the day again - hope this nicer weather continues for a while!
Not a lot on the agenda today, apart from going to see my daughter this morning. Oh, and will have to take Mr B back to the restaurant to fetch his car from last night. We walked home after our meal, it was still relatively early at around 9.30, and only a shortish walk from home.
Yesterday Tony was mowing the lawn & our Qualcast just stopped working after 5 minutes.
We checked the fuse & then tried it again after a few hours in case it had an automatic cutout. No life in it though. I don’t really know what happened - maybe Tony hit a stone or something but he doesn’t know.
I know nothing about lawnmower repairs & what Tony used to know he’s now forgot, so it looks like buying a new one. B&Q here we come…
Happy Birthday to Barry’s mum. What a good age to get to.
We had to buy a new one last week @Carol. The mower packed up just as Mr B had finished mowing the lawn. He had a look at it and it seemed it needed a new belt (drive belt? fan belt? I don’t know ). Anyway, he ordered a new belt and put it on, but although the mower worked, it was making a dreadful noise, and smelt as if the motor was burning. So a new mower it was. The old one had lasted a very long time, so we’re not complaining.
For a long time we’ve had hover mowers, but Mr B decided this time to get a wheeled mower instead. It’s a Webb, a rotary mower, but I don’t really know much more than that. I have to say it gives a much better cut than any of the hover mowers we’ve had. The only downside is that it’s quite heavy, which wouldn’t normally be a problem, but we have two steps up to the garage, so Mr B has to pick the thing up to put it away. Other than that he is pleased with it (it’s always Mr B who does the grass cutting here)
Thanks Bathsheba. I was thinking of going for Bosch. Simply because they have a good name & surprisingly not too expensive. I’ll just see what I like the look of when we get there…
Good morning. Bright and sunny at the minute but can’t help but notice that little hint of autumn in the earlier. Have a good day whatever your agenda.
