It has just started snowing here and a light dusting is covering the ground, trees and rooftops. Time to get the wellies on I think, for when it turns to muddy slush.
No plans for today as yet…waiting for the shops to open so I can get some shopping in and settle down for the rest of Sunday…
Good afternoon all. Not so wet today but overcast and cold. I still can’t believe I am wearing a hoodie at the end of Spring, it is supposed to warm up a bit during the week before the temperature drops to below 20’ next Saturday.
Fiddling about at home has been the order of the day, it is Sunday after all.
Light snow everywhere - it began late last night - and has frozen. Definitely crisp and even this morning, so only a short early walk.
Been busy in the kitchen - cauldron of Butternut and Carrot soup brewing nicely, and a Spiced Beef Stew doing it’s own thing on the Slow burner. Cats are snoring gently by the sitting room fire - I am off to play in the craft room!
Morning peeps, very cold here but a bright day ahead methinks…
Car problems this morning, it didn’t start and all manner of lights are flashing on the dashboard, so I’ve given Green Flag a call and I’m awaiting the mechanic, just hope it isn’t anything too serious. Visitors for lunch today so we’re having a full roast with apple pie dessert, so not all bad news…
Morning everyone, well no snow here - it’s a rare visitor to South Devon apart from on higher ground, such as the moors. I do think all of you on here saying you’ve got snow should post a picture of the views for us snow-deprived southerners
No plans today, apart from mending a colourful cardi for my daughter - silly girl just cut off a pulled thread, and guess what? She’s now got a hole
Its sunny here in Sudbury, but I have to go back in the loft to finish off insulating it… the worst job in the world.
My lad comes back from Uni today so I need to sort his room out as well, and then finish off painting the porch and getting the hall, living room and stairs ready for the decorators who are in tomorrow.
I must get that dog out shortly, but neither of us are in a rush.
Got the plumber, recommended by Susie, expected at 11, in the hope he can change the kitchen tap. Looking in the cupboard underneath I reckon he will have a struggle. Too much in the way.
Good morning all not sure why I thought it was afternoon maybe being up so early. Cold but dry bedding on the line and a bit of sun and a fair breeze so hopeful. The dog is chasing a carrot around the house and garden throwing and catching bits are flying everywhere having a great time.
Browsing the web; popping in and out of the garden, watching what I recorded Freddie Mercury The Final Act; sorting through some metal tins and condensing receipts to what’s still in the house i.e. insulation, cavity wall, windows etc.
Basically having a generally nice Sunday here’s hoping yours is as nice.
Snowing heavily here now in North Notts, and has been for the last couple of hours. Our visitors from Leicester have left early then to make sure they get home before it causes too many traffic problems, particularly on the M1… good luck kids…
Hi @Jazzi yes, turns out it was a dead battery, he got it started with a booster pack and I’ve now arranged to have a new one fitted tomorrow at Halfords. Thankful it was nothing more serious, and as the battery was ten years old I guess it was due for a new one anyway…
Fine, thanks. He WAS here for 1.5 hours, chatting a lot, and with two large coffees. But he fitted isolation valves to the two pipes and still charged the initial quote of £40. I expected more, after the extra bits.
Phoned Susie after he left and exclaimed ‘don’t he chat!!’ The guy even admitted it himself.
I now want to buy a spray attachment, as this head has a screw thread, which my old tap didn’t.
