Good morning all on this warmish weekend should get up to the mid 20s.
Believe it or not but it is actually raining The rain is pretty welcome I have to say, the ground is as dry as.
Spent some of the morning repotting some of the pot plants, I think it is because there is so much wood in the potting mix that rots away and the soil in the pot shrinks. Anyway put a couple of plants in larger pots as well.
Just before the rain shower started I returned from a quick trip to Big W to buy some gold Cricut vinyl, I hope I bought the right sort. Didn’t think it fair to use my daughter’s.
No Idea when she will arrive or which car she will arrive in. Visiting me is not the main purpose of her trip so I won’t be surprised if she turns up with another car on a trailer or a boot full of car or motor cycle parts. DINKS!
Good morning!
Dry, clear, mild, and a bit of sunshine
Firstly, a report on yesterday’s activities, which were mostly shopping
I’m not a vegan or vegetarian but such is the way of YouTube that I have been presented with a couple of vegan cooking channels, and some of the recipes look interesting
I had a money off voucher for Sainsbury so I did a load of shopping there, including some ingredients for the vegan recipes
Then to Screwfix to buy a couple of tools & materials for a new piece of work, we’ll come back to that in a day or two
Screwfix is close to a big new LIDL supermarket that has recently opened so I popped in there for a look round, and as you might expect I came out with more than I intended, including their bargain veg box, which has now gone up to ÂŁ2 but is still good value
I also got 6 packets of short dated tofu at a much reduced price
So far today I’ve had a shower, a few cups of coffee, and adjusted my watch & clocks
Then I’ll be sorting & planning my food & meals - I think I’ll be living off salads for the forseeable future
Good morning - A sunny day but I see signs there has been an overnight frost. That will mean the last of the summer flowers. We are doing a video family meeting shortly. Us here and our granddaughter in Australia. She wants to see her Nanny is OK. The sons are on their way here as I write.
Looking forward to a proper Cornish Pasty for dinner. One of the son’s was working in Cornwall during the week and has brought some enormous ones back.
Just come back from my walk on this fresh bright sunny day. Can’t say there’s a lot going on with us today, maybe get a fry-up breakfast, coffee later and wander down to the sea front for a wander along the shore. After that, no idea.
Hello folks from Sunny South Yorkshire…
Well it was when I went out for my morning stroll, it’s clouded over now and rain is expected in the next few hours. It was nice to be out in daylight after the last couple of weeks where my walks were getting later and later. Not because I don’t like walking in the dark, but waking up when it’s still dark, I tend to roll over and grab an extra half hour thinking it’s too early to get up…
The young lad across the road is seen here examining his car engine with a can of WD40.
He’s holding his phone in his hand, and I think he’s what’s apping a mechanic, or at least somebody who knows a bit about engines…
We’ll see if he goes to work in it tomorrow…
The weeks tablets to sort out now and set the rest of the clocks…
We just had our first cold front of the season move through in the night. I managed to get in a run before the rain came tumbling down. The resulting cooler water temperatures should mean the end to the hurricane season. I also caught a glimpse of first dolphins of the season about two tenths of a mile fishing for mullet. They don’t stay long because the water isn’t salty enough, but it’s always exciting to get a glimpse, and to know they are back and thriving.
I had planned to go to church this morning, but everyone has fled for work or errands, so the dress is back on the rack and the newspaper and tea blissfully await. Other than that, I’ll be tutoring my daughter for a good portion of the morning on occupational therapy. Not my favorite textbook to read with her, but she loves it so…
Good afternoon everyone on an unusually warm Autumn day today. It feels more like we should have gone forward one hour, not backwards!
Another tremor yesterday evening at precisely 21.49, stronger this time - 4.0, just as I was about to turn off the TV and start heading for bed. Plans completely catapulted, I phoned my son who was in town and he also felt the quake strongly and said he would come straight home.
We didn’t sleep in our upstairs bedrooms, spent the night in the living room, ground floor, safer and quick exit, just in case! If that wasn’t enough, I was awake most of the night, not just for worrying but also for the loud noise of more heavy rain with strong, almost gale force winds!
Earthquakes seem to coincide with abnormally high temperatures during season changeover.
One thing’s for sure, kids are going to be delighted to have their weekend extended, all schools closed tomorrow.
3pm And dark as Hades. Storm on the horizon.
Long awaited Landscaper. Booked for tomorrow.
Very much doubt that’s going to happen.
Unless. Chain Saws are Waterproof.
