Good Morning Sunday, 26th January 2025 - Australia Day

Good morning to you all, another warm day with a few clouds about.

Last night I went out to have a look at the alignment of the planets and the moon, I think I was too late, there was no moon and the brightest stars (which I presume were planets) were all over the place. Another astronomical failure on my part. I must get that Google Sky map app on my tablet again.

Had a minor panic this morning when I couldn’t find my wallet, searched everywhere - it was tucked down the side of my chair. On Friday I had received a new credit card so yesterday evening I was on line changing all the standing orders on my credit card to the new expiry date, I must have forgotten to put it back in my pocket.

Apart from that I have no plans for today, yesterday was a bit of a write off too with my son’s visit but hopefully later I will at least jack up my camper and get it on axle stands so I can start regreasing the bearings. I have talked and procrastinated about it long enough, now is the time for action (I think :slightly_frowning_face: ).

Most of my current jobs don’t really involve me much, they are things like resyncing my NASs with their new drives, my only task is setting them off., they do the rest

Will definitely water my potted plants later though, haven’t done that for a while but my plants seem to thrive better with too little water rather than too much.

Hope you have a lovely Sunday, are you busy?

Take care…

Good morning everyone, foggy start to the today, the sun seems to be struggling to slowly come out. So much humidity around, it hasn’t been raining but roads are always wet as if it has!
It’s such a nuisance @Bruce when we mislay stuff and haven’t got a clue where to find it, then suddenly it just miraculously appears again. My kitchen is heated by a firewood stove and I spent all day yesterday looking for the iron rod which I use to open the little door handle, otherwise you burn your fingers, but it had just disappeared into thin air!
This morning, while cleaning out the ashes, there it was, I’d left it inside the stove

Happy Australia Day to all our Australian friends.

Snaps Bruce!
I lost my visa card yesterday night as well and went on panic mod, before deciding to cancel it I decided to walk my steps back to the last place I saw it which was a coffee shop where I had a cuppa on the day before.

Luckily , the lovely employee there had given it to her boss who worked in another agency and who was planning to drop it to the bank in a city half hour drive away as it was the nearest bank branch obviously.

The coffee shop waitress could call him just in time before he dropped the card but he was already in the other city, so she asked him to keep my card and bring it back this morning to their coffee shop, where I went to pick it up this morning!

I was so relieved not to have to cancel it as it is a foreign card and that would have been a real headache! Pheew …

Good morning all

I had a great evening at the Concert Hall, after we went to a Mac and got a take away .

Ive never lost my Debit Card , but once many years ago my Hubby went and did some shopping at a Supermarket , next day he noticed he no longer had his Card , thinking where he last used it , he phoned the store and asked if his card had been handed in ,
It had, he had left it in the Card reader when he paid for the shopping .

Ive nothing planned for today , Have a good day all .

Good Morning from Robert’s Residence… :european_castle:
Cold and frosty this morning and 0 degrees C. I decided to try my new shoes out on a five mile partly off road course. They are road shoes really with flat’ish soles, but no problems even when it started raining, fortunately the rain didn’t last too long and the clouds blew away and the sun made an appearance.

Judging by the weather forecast that will be the last we shall see of the sun today, heavy rain and strong winds are forecast for later in the day…Probably the worse winds since records began… :009:

Good morning from normal Florida!

Thank you to @OldGreyFox for the sunshiny wake-up!

The snow has melted and though soggy, the temperatures are mild and the birds are cheering.

@Bruce and @mei , that is such a frustrating feeling to lose a card. In the panic of searching, ones head goes to all the dastardly things that are being done with the sums of money some thief is doing with one’s money, followed by the rush of relief when it’s resolved. As is the case with you, @Mei, it’s good to know that most people are honest and even wilI go to extra steps to help others out. That was very nice of the cafe manager. I long-ago adopted the habit of carrying only a phone case with a zip-up compartment, so I wouldn’t misplace cards and other valuables in the black hole of what becomes my purses. My head is always one step ahead, so I am constantly misplacing things. I drive myself bananas!   :weary:.

@Rose2, I have likewise lost a poker in the ashes. As I recall, I was sure that it was my rambunctious young son who had absconded it. Lots of mea culpas there. Your kitchen must smell heavenly with the aromas of cooking and your wood stove.

After eyeing it online for sometime, we have decided to put an offer on a lot a half-hour drive from here. We finally took a look at it, and it will fit a house that we can have the primary bedroom and laundry on the same floor as the kitchen and other rooms. It’s probably an insane idea to take on such a big project at our ages, but we would rather do the hard work now than leave big decisions up to our kids - when our brains and bodies are too far gone to be of much use. The only risk is that we can’t start building until we sell the house we are in, so it’s full bore t spruce this place up starting right about - now.

@OldGreyFox, I hope those shoes work well. I have no idea why the shoe manufacturers suddenly went to a lower rise, but I think the flat shoes are not as good in terms of impact but with my wide feet, I am a victim of whatever the shoe manufacturers throw at me.

@Eliza, I am so glad you had a nice time! Concerts are such a nice way to spend an evening.

Have a very nice Sunday!

Our wood stove is in the dining area (very big kitchen ), so I don’t use it for cooking, but I do often heat the water for pasta and then I transfer the pan to my gas cooker to bring it to the boil, otherwise it would take too long on the stove.
